Overall great last episode with an unexpected outcome.
There was so much time spent on Neil, that I was sure he was going to kill Kevin. Turns out, he's just an abusive drunk.
However, the casting of Molly was perfect and one last giant fu that will go over the head of much of the audience, I am sure.
Too bad this didn't get the traction it deserved and probably flies under the radar of most. I'm just glad we got this second season and closure.
The moment the world crumbled for Kevin was very well shot, the impact of it was palpable and Petersen's best work in this show. The whole scene felt heavily dangerous and gloomy where you'd think one is going to kill the other. There was so much build up about killing Kevin off, that you always anticipated it. That everything will lead to it at some point. Like a thread woven throughout the story being told but then you realize you missed the growth of Allison, as mentioned by Patty this episode herself that that wasn't the goal for some time anymore. Nice outcome and fitting for this show considering it's origin.
Was it perfect? No. Was it at parts lackluster? Sure.
But it was daring, well cast, written and acted.
Probably no surprise to another, but we finally got to see true / real world Kevin and it's one of the best scenes the show has ever done (even though I personally don't agree with what happens the following scene).
It's a testament to Eric Petersen, that he manages to pull off Sitcom Kevin for so long and then switches effortlessly into that. I just wish we had a little more.
Gonna miss Mary Hollis Inboden.
Wow. Just wow. It is so hard to end a series and this one - not unlike Better Call Saul - completely nailed it. I don't understand why people were surprised or expected something different. The ending that they chose is completely consistent with the rest of the show. At the heart of the show is a great love story and they were consistent with that by not ruining it with an event that would overshadow it. I particular liked the one visual with roughly 10 minutes left. During the very first episode of the series I kind of thought that we would see it but I still gasped out loud when it happened.

I love that we finally got to see the true Kevin and it was immediately easy to see why Allison wanted away from him and wanted him dead. Dude got what he deserved in the end: having everyone leave him and dying from his own stupidity.
