All right, I'm hooked after one episode. The writing really is very tight, and the characters already feel fully three-dimensional. If a sitcom can pull that off in its very first installment, it absolutely deserves a slot in my rotation!
Maybe because of my disdain for Syfy series after the Dark Matter/Killjoys face-off—wherein the former got canceled despite its higher ratings than the latter—I couldn't put a finger on why Therese (the drag queen who comes into the shop) seemed so familiar. Looking up the actor afterward, I see it was Thom Allison—whom I recognized from his role as Pree in, of all shows, Killjoys. That was a nice treat, seeing him in something else.
