"Thumb Fun" is certainly not a top-tier Looney Tunes short, but it's got plenty of fun moments. The gags aren't as memorable, but the interaction between Daffy and Porky is. Daffy is a troublemaker for certain, but some of the time it's hard to tell if he wants to get Porky in trouble or if he's just that insane.
It appears that Rob Scribner was one of the animators here, which probably contributes to some of the crazier drawings. I like the look of Daffy and Porky. The side characters that they get into trouble with, like the man in the tiny car and the cop, are drawn very differently. They are huge and intimidating. Pretty neat, but I've always liked the animation in Robert McKimson directed cartoons.
This particular short was used a lot on the old Bugs Bunny-Road Runner show on Saturday mornings. The first gag when Porky looks into the exploding trunk was used as a cutaway to commercials.
