So; I can see both sides here in terms of Kate's Mum's reaction. Kate thought she was saving her, bit of an extreme action to take but I guess it certainly stopped the abuse. Kate's Mum, besotted with the guy, now feels she should pay for that action.
Juliette; I don't believe she's been left behind. You have to proceed on the basis, at least for now, that she's lying and it's all part of some elaborate deception - but - where have they all gone, to the summer camp or something?
Oh, Sawyer, I knew you have the guts to do good :D
If they were smart they would ask Juliette everything she knows before letting her into their camp. God I hope they do.
