What is happening? It seems they have got off the island or will get off the island - and - now Jack is doing everything he can to get back! Who is in the casket?? it has to be someone who got off the island, but who!
How the hell did John get there; he was shot days back and was in a pit last we saw him? Ben needs to watch out, John seems to have a greater affinity with the island than he does.
We have to go back! Iconic.
I know that Sarah shows up and Jack mentions his dad because it's for the bait-and-switch reveal that it's all been a flash-forward, but it feels kind of silly if you examine it in retrospect.

This is Lost's Avengers: Infinity War. Ambitious in its design and epic in scope, this grandiose season finale gives us a tragic death and an ending so startling, subverting our expectations and giving to us something we needed, even if we didn't knew that we did. It was genius and it changed television for better. The stakes were higher, the resolution of all the conflicts were gloriously done and in the end you can't help but hype yourself for what comes next, because you know Lost will get wilder and wilder episode by episode and season by season.
One of the most memorable season finales in television history.
Guess I was wrong with my last comment on the last episode, it didn't turn out to be the female who Sawyer screwed over.
But WHY did Charlie have to die? Why did he just stay in there to die when he had chances to get out? He probably could have fit through the blown out portal, or instead of sealing the door with him in it he could have been on the other side.
Usually Jack has been trying to look for some way to get off of the island, now with what was shown in this episode (supposedly) his future self is trying to do anything to get back to the island! Sheesh! Maybe Jack is just having a nightmare, wake up Jack!!
How could I almost forget, Hurley to the rescue! lol

What a poorly written death, but totally deserved! Another unlikeable character down, too many to go. I wish Jack was next.
One of the best endings in TV ever. Beautiful ending for Charlie. I remember being flabbergasted when I first saw this and it still holds up!
All these years later, no matter how many times I've rewatched the series, this is still one of my favorite twist season finales ever.
If it was a flash forward, why did Jack ask the doctor to call his father to see who's more drunk? His father is back?
