1x01 I Saw the Sun Rise

The action is good even if most of the casting is way off. Especially Magnum and Higgins.
Selleck was a big guy. This guy is too tiny. Also, no stache. He also lacks the Selleck charm. He’s also not an action hero, like CBS turned MacGyver into as well.
While men shouldn’t be saying “Higgins is hot!.” Supposed to be a balding guy, also with a stache. Not a potential love interest either.

I am 2 seasons in (it's a filler show to pass the time). It's not good. I liked the original.
It would be nice if this had funny moments to it. And they totally ruined it with Higgins (maybe if her attitude was better than "she's the best , smartest and always right". )
I fast forward through any scene with her in it. I hear she is going to be Magnum's love interest, I will stop watching when that happens!

it's baywatch Jay hernandez for gods sake. so yes bad casting. Higgins is quite good though. I like her. shame on people who never watched the original :-P

They sit in a cell as prisoners of war and have black powder and a Zippo?! Seems legit :rofl:

anglo-AUSTRALIAN finance really butchered this 1 of 3 80's remakes. was much better when it wasn't Ms Higgins P.I.

Interesting reboot take on Magnum P.I. Good mix of actors with nice characterization; but will it hold up? Action sequences were well executed & hopefully will not be overused.

Never quite liked the Original, so it's not surprising, that I think this one is better.

Love that Higgins is a woman now.
Nagging Men are just annoying. Nagging women are hot (not that she needed the boost).

Without her it would be a 6 - She makes it an 8.

And yes, this might be considred sexist - sue me.

Uninspired, total rip exact same story as original, opening montage was shot for shot. Another gender swap. And how many times did the first and only Magnum destroy the Ferrari? And this guy manages to destroy 2 in the first episode, but it's okay there's another one..
Unnecessary, just watch the original.

Pretty good first episode. I've never watched the original so I don't have anything to compare this to. I like how there were two references to Hawaii Five-0. It'd be cool if there was a crossover between the two eventually.
