The seventh season of Magnum PI took a big turn in order to keep or gain viewership. I never noticed this as a kid since I never got this far in the show but seeing them now the difference between 6 and 7 is staggering. The amount of violence and sex in it is very different than before... Don't get me wrong, it's still PG-rated but almost every episode in this season feels like a alter version of Miami Vice... Including some Phill Collins songs!
Regardless of the hard turn in style it still is Magnum, there still are quips, stil fun moments, still scenes where a smile appears on your face. It's just a little bit harsher and it's none the worse for it.
