It seems like one of my predictions from two episodes ago is starting to appear correct. Jared knows Tamara and her brother, Billy, are X'ers, somehow, I guess his rank of a detective is beginning to hold true, and also that the bar is a hangout of X'ers, altogether, I imagine, so due to his conversation with Michaela, he's deciding to go on the path of proving his worth to her by embedding himself within the deeper ranks of the X'ers, and take them down from the inside. It's a decent plan, I'll give him that, but problems are most likely going to arise to create and add more drama. We'll have to wait and see. Then there's Ben, going over to the dark side. The ending was pretty cool, I admit. But the best part of the episode was undoubtedly Ben's obligatory "dramatically taking off his glasses" moment, the scene where he drove up to where the car accident happened, opened the door, left it open, like a boss, dramatically stared a second or two, then dramatically took off his glasses, in a swift motion. And that wasn't the only time he did it in this episode. You are too kind, writers, to bless us with more than one of those moments. We are undeserving of your generosity. It can never be a Manifest episode without at least one of them. After all, it's what we're watching each episode to see.
There wasn't a single moment of this one that wasn't either (a) a complete waste of time or (b) stupid beyond belief or (c) both at the same time. My faves from this one:
Let's start with a minor, but annoying one. Olive knows when the cult is gonna be getting more disposable coffee cups and the response is: "How did we do anything around here before you joined us?" Um, there are maybe 50 people in the cult; just buy a sleeve or two of disposable cups at the local grocery store, Einstein. You don't need to "order" them.
Every word and action from Prince Charming when he showed up at the hit-and-run site.
Leap #1: A suspect's "They're just some guys from the club" IMMEDIATELY becomes Michaela's "We believe this is the HEADQUARTERS [emphasis mine] of a violent group."
Leap #2: Michaela sees a blue truck and, without ANYTHING to back it up, IMMEDIATELY tells her boss that "That truck was involved in a hit-and-run with another passenger."
Jared gives the bad guys one tip and THAT SAME NIGHT gets to meet one of the group's apparent bigwigs because...they're grateful AND stupid, I guess? And that's on top of the fact that Jared just HAPPENED to find that bar and that bartender to get the hots for in the first place. Now it's possible that all of this has been a setup (undercover op) since BEFORE he met the bartender, but for now, it's going in the stupid pile since I doubt that the writers have it in them to make any of it make sense. Besides, even if Jared IS working undercover, the bad guys are still being really stupid here.
Prince Charming's actions at the very end.
Meanwhile, we get NOTHING this week from the awesome and lovely Saanvi, and only a passing mention of her progress. And there was a lot of soap opera stuff that I skipped entirely. So yeah, this one was horrendous.
Jared who is a cop just let a group of assaulters go free, all because Mik didn’t choose him. We all know he’s a fuckin cop right!!
I’m sure there’s a clinical term for what Mick and Zeke are doing right? Sleeping with the guy that shot you? Cant be healthy but I’m here for it
Fuxk you Grace, if i didnt hate you more before. Pineapple absolutely belongs on pizza!
Even with her mom in the hospital Olive still protecting the church
Wtf is the Captain and Jared doing what the actual fuck Jared. For some pussy? Hopefully he’s being selfish and just want to get in bed with them as a UC so he can get back some good graces. But time will tell
Wife!? Damn it Zekei had your back all this time. Is there anyone that doesn’t have a secret in this show?
Damn every time Ben gets aggressive its badass. He should do it more often
AWFUL! I don't know if I've commented this before on here but I totally get why this show was canceled -I know I've tweeted it and think about it a lot- like WHERE'S THE MYSTERY? Now I gotta deal with Zeke's wife? with Jared's new girlfriend? with cops acting exactly out of the blue lives cult? This is a cop drama. and sometimes a family drama. Not a sci-fi mystery show.
And again I don't get Olive, I get she feels lonely, but she knows damn well that the 828 flight wasn't a miracle, maybe to her it was, but she also knows all the science behind it! And also isn't she supposed to be 16? she was like 10 and a half, then add 5 years and 6 months, that's 16, and I think it's been like 4 months since the plane came back? like 2 before Michaela got shot and another 2 after, so she's like 16 and a half and she's dating someone in college? and taking her Psat?
Also who is that Isaiah guy? Michaela said they've met before?
Could the calling "save her" not mean save Olive from the cult leader but from the kid instead? Hmm, I think maybe so.

Alright, stupidity has left the mother and moved to the daughter.
