Fuck this episode for making me rewind to check her hand and then not showing both her hands.

I was so sure that other couple was sent there to kill them

This was a fantastic episode. The tension they put in the viewer's minds right from the beginning about the new smiths was the charm.

Who else skipped back to check the hands ?

The other jane/john plot was fun cause I was like they aren’t even sure they work for the same people and they are spilling all the deets, and then I was maybe they are rivals and they are there to kill them, so it was fun that tension and not knowing

Glover and Erskine befriend another undercover couple working for the same firm. The extra-bougie second Mr. & Mrs. Smith (the suave Wagner Maura & the scene-stealing Parker Posey) charm our anti-heroes' lives with flattery, marital humor and career tips. All this cheery, cynical banter underlines the show's mercenary view of modern life.

Excited to finally have friends they can open up with, Glover and Erskine miss multiple red flags, reveal too much, and are easily led toward trouble. Maura and Posey react with mild surprise when the younger couple survive the ensuing experience. The latter have a lot more to process.

The best episode so far. Finally the focus on their relationship and the banter between them seemed connected to the story. It still had flaws but I think those flaws are supposed to be forgiven because of the style and tone of the series. Whether they knowingly ignored certain story elements in order to rush through the character development and set up the series or whether they didn’t notice or didn’t think it mattered, is beside the point - as a viewer you take it as you find it and if they miss the mark on the subtleties then those issues might be too much for you.
