Isn't the girl (Amani? - Didn't quite get the name...) a minor?
The lawyer clearly only states that her signature is on it - not hers and her parents.
Here is what I found about it after ~2 minutes research:
"Outside of contracts for necessities, minors may enter into a legal agreement, but the contract is considered "voidable" only by them. This is due to the presumption that minors lack the legal capacity to initially agree to the contract terms. A minor may choose to either terminate the agreement or allow it to continue as agreed upon. The law surrounding minors' ability to enter contracts is meant to prevent them from agreeing to a contract that takes advantage of their lack of understanding.
Minors can only void a contract due to their age while they are still considered a minor. Once a person reaches the age of 18 and hasn't taken action to void the contract, they can no longer void it for that reason."

Laws seem to differ a bit between states in the US, but essentially it seems to work like this. This by the way is also the reason minors who get kicked out by their parents have such trouble not just making ends meet but also finding a place to rent (although the law does exclude necessities as far as I understand it) or do reasonable things adults do with their money in general (like a contract for mobile phone service) - no one wants to enter a contract the other party can just upend at their leisure.
It might not look great on applications, but she clearly didn't understand the implications of the "contract" she signed.
Not to mention that it also should be considered an "unusual clause" having everything you enter with forfeit for the chance of a pice.
From what I see the state-wide fairs actually produce things of some value.
Sooooo, shouldn't she legally be allowed to just give the $50k back and thus cancel the contract?
Maybe I skipped over the part where that happened, but it should be the first thing on everyones mind with just a basic understanding of law.
(To be fair, maybe not - I educated myself on the german law equivalent to this one (and many more) back when I feared my JW parents could throw me out about two decades ago - maybe only few people check what the rights of minors actually are opposed to TV portrayals)

I actually quite liked the part when Max gave the girl (Imani Moore) the document that she owns a share in Novaco. Which means she is ineligible to win, therefore they don't own her idea, hence Novaco can't do shit!
