[Series Mania '23] A very melancholic look at the world of television in Great Britain during the 1970s and 1980s, centered on the protagonist of one of the longest running series on television, "Crossroads" (1964-1988 ). With a superb performance by Helena Bonham Carter, the script not only offers a nostalgic vision of classic soap operas, but above all it's a very incisive look at the way in which actors face the decline of their careers, especially at the end of a time when they were big stars, facing the transformation of a more impersonal television.
I gave this a 7 purely for the nostalgia and trip down memory lane…..
As a show it maybe should have got a 6!
I grew up having to watch Crossroads, we would have to eat our dinner and wash up before it started so my mum could watch it….
Watching this show brought back so many found memories and I could remember all the sets and outfits worn and this show has recreated all of this….
