- "Look, I am trying to target an entire continent here. That's four billion potential listeners. Ah, you're welcome."

- "Look, every great Episode 2 always makes you care deeply for the victim."
- "That's true. I've fallen in love with so many dead people."

- "And do you consent to being recorded? Just say anything to agree."
‐ "No, please."
‐ "Thanks, perfect."

  • I'm enjoying the show so far. Episode 2 is much better than the first one.
  • The sex toy scene was hilarious. The best part of Only Murders in the Building is Martin Short. Mabel was reminiscing and feeling guilty and Oliver was talking about Tim's sex life.
  • Casting for young Selena was spot-on.

Selena is doing a great job acting like she is feeling absolutely no emotions while in the same room as greats like Martin Short and Steve Martin.

Really enjoyed this episode, not at all what I was expecting, and that's a good thing. Loved the building and loved the apartments. So much more beneath the surface here and can't wait for episode two!!

The young Mabel was spot on as a young Selena! Dang.

I like the characterizations for our weird trio of sleuths. Can't say I like or are attached to any of them particularly strongly at this point, but yeah, they're interesting enough and have this rapport when they're together that make them fun to watch.

Glad we're seeing Mabel and Tim's backstory now, I was scared we were going to have to wait a while.

And WHOA, that ending. (Are they not worried about stealing all of Tim's stuff from his apartment though and leaving tracks in the blood, or is it because the cops are done with the scene?)

This show has me intrigued. Will the Charles and Oliver figure out Mabel knew Tim.

This is getting so intriguing, I had not expected that. What a great show so far.

I’m not pulled in or blown away by this yet. Considering the rave reviews, I’ll keep on going for now…

I'm definitely in for the ride and loving these characters.
Theory?
Seems likely at this point that that it's their friend Oscar taking revenge? From the snippits that were revealed it sounds like he took the heat for killing his gf and Tim could have saved him. And we saw Mabel mention him getting out at the start of the ep? I dunno. I hope not cos otherwise its a big spoiler ep 2.

I find myself shedding a few tears AFTER the ending: for Tim, or the friend who went to prison, or Mabel? Dunno...maybe a little bit for our favorite pod-casters who were too dense to look at what was there in front of them -- no, you're right, they're for Mabel, "in her perfect state," if she were present & connected to her own stuff: Did she ever share what Tim told her with the defense attorney, did she ever visit their friend in prison? Did she ever talk to the dead girl's parents? That AND she's closed off from simply caring Tim is dead, no matter how mad or disappointed she is with him.

After the hysterical memorial service, I like that we get to spend most of the episode with Mabel, exploring her backstory, starting to see her walling Charles and Oliver off a bit as she researches their past. For as many questions as it answers, it raises just as many new ones. And the little moments of surrealism, like the conversation with Tim, are a cool touch. Really digging this show.
