Parks and Recreation

Season 6

BY FAR THE BEST SEASON OF PARKS AND RECREATION EVER. Hands down at the character development. I loved how Andy and April have grown into a more mature couple; Ron being a little softer about family and friends; Tom actually learning from his mistakes about business; Ann and Chris moving and making better decisions; and finally, I'm glad Ben and Leslie will be able to be the best parents they will be.

Still a solid sitcom. Aside Leslie and Ron who are fantastic characters it never really lived up to its potential. It uses its setting as a mere backdrop. Those people could manage a - let's say - a university or a power plant and the stories wouldn't change substantially. It has nothing to do with the insanity of local government and bureaucracy (if it wasn't for Ron's more and more rare quips) But it has its moments. Sloppy job though with the triplets. But this season has once again proven that they are the masters of having VIPs on the show. I mean, hello? They had Senator McCain, the First Lady, Joe Biden and now the greatest star of all: Jon Hamm as a humble government clerk (in hone of his trademark Cary Grant suits). I'm not sure how to top this in season 7? Could they afford Werner Herzog? And that's already the biggest problem: the last season will be the most difficult to write. They should have stopped when Ann and Chris moved away. It's only stagnation from this episode on.

Season 6 might be my favorite season of Parks & Recs. So much character growth!

As with the previous season: there are some very funny episodes, others are good and a few are mediocre. All in all a fun watch but not more.
