This is a good show, but my main issue with it (at least the first season) is that the contestants have no consistency in what level of strategy they are playing with. I assume this is because they did not know this was going to be a game with a strategic element. Perhaps going forward if the contestants are aware of what they are heading into we may see this change.
The result of this was that sometimes there was strategic gameplay, which renders the show frustrating for cooking show fans and that at other times there is a complete lack of strategy, which renders the show frustrating for strategy show fans. As a member of the latter, watching some contestants make decisions that were actively against their best interest because they were trying to be "fair" in a game that has already demonstrated itself not to be fair was incredibly frustrating.
I do think this is a good show, but I think it needs to figure out which side of pure talent vs. strategy show it wants to fall on, because as of now it is sitting in the middle too much to fully appeal to fans of either side. I don't begrudge the show this fully, as the contestants are just put into the format and can play the game however they want. I think the casting department should take careful effort in future seasons to mold the way the game is going to be played.
Nice new spin on a Reality Based Cooking Show. If you are sick of the same old formula, this is worth a look. People griping about how it is unfair have plenty of other mainstream Reality Cooking Shows to watch. Besides, the majority of decisions were based on pure integrity anyway so seriously get a GRIP! When peoples faves don’t win they try to grasp at any straw they can! Cry me a river! It’s so bloody refreshing to see things shaken up for a change!!!!!!
I love reality competition shows but cooking shows almost always focus exclusively on the food, which is good, but I loveeee drama every now and then, so it was very nice to see reality style shenanigans happen here. I thought the cooks could've been even more strategic and ruthless lol but I'm glad it was mostly fair. At the end of the day it's just a tv show so I thought the winner was deserving.
Not a fan of cooking shows.
I decided to watch this because I was told that it's like Big Brother with cooking... so I gave it a shot.
I loved the show but was disappointed every time a tie/elimination came down to a vote instead of a cook off.
Oh and P.S...
When you play a competition where votes decide the winner... never ever ever let a sob story make it to the end.

If 'Jersey Shore' were a cooking show, this would be it. I had low expectations for this show but it turned out to be very enjoyable. The show is very cutthroat which unsurprisingly made for an entertaining tv show. I think the sets could have been a little more interesting. If they get a bigger budget in future seasons improve on a few things I think it could be great.
