Gave it three episodes and it does get better, even if they try too hard with the action parts. But what stays consistent is the part where the show takes itself way too serious, the lame, clichéd dialogues and a certain trashiness mainly in action scenes. That makes the show simply one of a dozen, second hand shaming and very predictable.
If you like mindless, recycled, trashy entertainment, you may find it here. But you may not necessarily like the characters who are still somewhat unlikable. Not because they aren't yet established as characters (which they aren't after just 3 episodes) but more because the show doesn't really care about establishing them. The "hook" to the characters and ultimately the show is Street's "secret" past and how Hondo tries - for some other unexplained reason (other than "I was there") - to put up with him and incorporate him into the team. Even if you know from the absurd first appearance of Street he's not fit to be a SWAT member. While Hondo tries that, we, the audience, get to "know" the team members bit by bit and about their world they live in but...there's really no reason to. There's nothing that gets you intrigued about them because the show cares only about Hondo and Street. Everyone else is just cardboard, noise or are just a frame for the main duo to work in.
As I said, gave it three episodes, but it's simply not hooking me whatsoever.
