Salem: Season 3

3x10 Black Sunday

Look, it was not 100% satisfactory, but it was from a certain point. Salem from the beginning wanted a new insight into witchcraft and all, it managed to be dark and daring, VERY. Since the beginning of the show some scenes I was just jaw droping. They managed to keep this until the last moment. It was not what I expected, but it was good, delivered what it promised. And Anne Hale? Damn, you totally freaked me out! I'm going to miss Mary and all this crazy witch world that Salem brought. Pound me the witch drums!

It had its up and downs.
Thankfully they improved at the end in terms of the awful child actor by removing him from many episodes/scenes.
They also turned town the watery-eye-Mary thing. The special effects were stunning and Marilyn Manson a fantastic side character who I initially didn't recognize whatsoever without all his makeup.

But Anne Hale? Really? Sure, she was always this unrecognizable, dangerous power. But it felt too rushed to close the story for me.
Really unbelievable and I never liked her at all either. She may have had her good moments here and there that I even enjoyed but overall she was holding everyone else back while contributing nothing other than pain and despair to those around her. She was a broken character throughout and now she won everything.
I say the cancellation put the writers into a difficult position to close everything up in a satisfactory manner and the result is lacking in finesse and buildup. Setting up Anne would have needed more time to make it believable and satisfying.
Not the worst finale ever but included in the lineup.
