A good and entertaining first season. The build up of the "main" relationship was very believable and meticulous and it had the potential of having one of the most rewarding happy Jane Austen endings. So either the writers wanted to deviate from that, or they genuinely didn't think the show would be cancelled and they wouldn't be able to finish the story properly.

I wish there was a second season, the Sidney - Charlotte relationship was built slowly and it felt real and relatable, but the main characters were given little time to be together and it was all smudged into one episode. I understand the writers were in a hurry but i feel they kinda messed the ending.
