What is the deal with Starfleet officers falling in love after a few days?

I am commenting on both episodes here.

The story is interesting because it shows that enemies can live together once they are removed from the indoctrination of their cultures. But it also shows how easily they do revert to their ways. At least the Klingons do. Would have been interesting to see the tables turned.
This is reminiscent to our own time where individuals of different cultures can be able to become friends while their respective countries are at each other's throats. It is a little disconcerning how Worf acts here. By teaching them their heritage he also destroys this balance.

The episode isn't all perfect like mentioned in the other comment. There are some things that come to convinient but you only have so much time within each episode. If the Data plot from part one had been another episode they could have given more depth to Worf's arc.

Seeing DS9 in HD - that really was great. Shame we more than likely never get the whole show on BluRay.

Wait. So, basically, Worf goes AWOL and, upon his return, Picard doesn’t seem bothered and Worf lies to him. So much for Klingon honor.

A beautiful story - hefty with the realisation that the history of the Khitomer massacre has come full circle, Worf has his answers and the young people who left the camp will likely never see their families again.

Ba'el had better keep her ears hidden :joy:

Good Worf / Klingon backstory. Bit of a throaway love narrative but I suppose we rarely get that.
