More entertainng than part 1, but a lot more stupid. Data's change is nonsensical and Lore is reduced to a James Bond villain. Picard and Geordi's method of re-enabling Data's ethics is a giant WTF moment. And while the return of Hugh is welcome, he isn't given anything interesting to do. I don't understand why the writers didn't team him back up with Geordi given their past friendship.

I really enjoy the stuff on board the Enterprise with Beverly in charge though, it just makes a pleasant change, and similarly it's great to see an untested bridge crew. But Lore deserved a better send off.

I like Hugh, and he gets to act much more “human” here.

Any episode where Data gets to be unlike his usual self, whether that involves Lore, Dr Sung. or data’s programming going haywire, shows us that Brent Spiner is actually a pretty good actor.

The two parter "Descent" ist pretty much that: a descent.

The dialogue is too much over the top at times. It's a symphony of clichès. Lore is past his prime and his ultimate removal from the show overdue. And having the Borg entering into a fist fight at the end was a bit hilarious to be honest. All in all everything just fell too conviently into place every time it needed to.
I, too, liked the scenes with Beverly althought it was a weird decision by Picard in the first place to strip the ship of all it's high ranking officers.

I like Lore a lot but even I can't let this one be. It's an awfull season finale and even worst as a first episode. Trully bad writing and lazy work overall. There is not a single character this two parter made a good thing with, even Hugh is kinda thrown in there and again in a lazy unpolished way.

DaForge tho. Strong on this one.
