An utterly devastating episode that shows the best of the Voyager crew. After two decades of its airing, it is still relevant with genocide still alive and well in many corners of the world, with its extreme inhumane measures and layers of lies and subterfuge. I'm utterly shocked by this experience.

Roxanne Dawson's acting is superb here, and B'lanna is the exact character to carry the story for her combination of Klingon honor and human empathy. It is not only her living Korenna's memories, but us living her memories as well.

Like many of the best Trek episodes, it is a dead heat that does not resolve with no good solutions for the Voyager crew, but it is left in the viewer's hands to contemplate for their own world.

A familiar topic: an alien telepathic race intrudes the mind of a female crew member. (Troi was even mind-raped and in another episode she was even impregnated.) I like how thrilled she seems to get laid (in her dreams): it is obvious that she needs some quality time. The backdrop story is very dark actually. That turns out to be some sort of genocide and how ordinary people became involved. And it's about the next generation remembers such crimes and how they hereby prevent that history repeats itself. The historical similarities to 20th century history are obvious. That's a level of seriousness, that I did not expect. But it's well executed.

Not very Bad and Not very good.
A mindblowing end would have been great. But The Ending was Weak.
Torres acting was good.

My main takeaway from this was that Charles Esten got paid to perform the same love scene twice, with two gorgeous actresses. Acting, a tough job :p

Also, Roxanne Dawson is really talented and should have been given more stories in this show.

There is a very important message here about the treatment of people who think different. And that message is still true today. Just look around. I am not taking anyones side here but we see people are being attacked for having different opinions. Things are being forced upon us and if you don't want to go along you are destructive.
This might be an extrem szenario at first but don't forget that resettlements have happened in our own history. And like the episode shows change starts with one person.
Unfortunately the weight of that message is somewhat lost behind a love story. Most of the time it feels more like a father trying to prevent just that instead of a society trying to cover up a genocide.

"They are the most sensual dream I've ever had in my life, and they feel absolutely real." and you don't find anything concerning with that? Damn it B'Elanna you're the chief engineer. And wtf Chakotey!! Specially when you have guests with telepathic abilities.
