The camera operators and effects crew were really earning their paychecks in this episode.

The initial moments are pure kitsch. Mr. Scott falls in love. In no time. Kirk is not the only alpha aboard who is very susceptible to pretty girls in skirts. Then there's this strange disco lights scene. Which I can only describe as unique. All before the theme song starts to play. This episode is off to a memorable start.

I'm not even sure what to make of this episode. It's a mystery episode - besides talk very little is actually happening. The lethal threat infuses some excitement though. It's a welcome deviation from the usual "crew members are trapped" episodes. There's some remarkable FX. It's an episode that I can only describe as memorable. Not sure whether I mean this in a positive or negative way. It's certainly one of the more entertaining episodes of this season.

Main takeaway: I learned where the fandom website got its name from.

Scotty: "Now we have all the time in the world."

Eternity in this case is the last five minutes of this episode. She will never be heard of again in this show... I surmise.

Other than the fact that Scotty was really patronizing at times towards Mira this was a solid episode.

And if you haven't already known, yes, this is where the famous Star Trek Wiki got his name from.
