An absolute classic episode and certainly among the best of the season. I love the puzzle-solving mystery aspect to this which pulls from the atmosphere of Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider. I have to admit that Kolya is a cheesy bad guy but Robert Davi somehow makes it work; the writing for him is the problem as its full of exposition dumps. And yet somehow I'm always thrilled to see him back.

It's nice that this one gives McKay a slightly different slant and gets him interacting in ways we haven't seen much so far.

"I'm a doctor, not a bloody fighter pilot!"

It looks like this is the last time Sora is even mentioned for quite a while, until the Stargate Atlantis: Legacy novel series. After the Atlantis team repelled the Genii invasion, a throwaway line from Dr. Weir about locking up Sora "for now" was the last we heard of her until this episode. (Apparently Sora was originally traded for a Genii nuclear weapon in "The Siege, part 2", but we haven't gotten there yet and the scene was cut before broadcast, so this is a pretty big "we have no idea" hole in Atlantis continuity.)
