I feel like I'm being tricked into liking Rodney now. He was such a dick and now he's a perfect boy.

It's amazing how woolly the long-range sensors are on Atlantis. One week, they can pick up as many hives as they want weeks and weeks out from the city. The next, a hive manages to get two days from the city without being detected at all before altering course to pick up the strays. And this is without any attacks or damage to the city in between. It's almost like they operate purely off of plot necessity power to determine their range.
