IMDB trivia says, "First episode with the short version of the main theme. The credits are now overlaid in the opening of the second act. This was done to add extra ad time."
Yeah, I'll believe it. Perhaps this was an early sign that the show would be canceled? Trying to juice ad revenue like this comes off as a bit desperate on the network's part.
Oh wait, it was on the channel we now call Syfy. Never mind, this makes perfect sense for them. :joy_cat:

It was annoying seeing Shepherd and co try and screw up the plan even though they didn't know Taylor was in trouble. Yeah the ship went to hyperspace but the plan could have still been in action.
It was annoying when Ronan pulled the gun on the 2nd in command even though there was only 3 of them in a hive ship and surrounded. What a stupid move that could have easily got them all killed or captured and then tortured.
It was annoying seeing Taylor kill wraith just to kill wraith instead of playing the game. The game of politics and sticking to the plan, and not getting discovered and made suspicious. I thought she was more clever than that. Instead, she only acted semi-well at her initial role of trying to be a queen.
Todd is the mvp here. It was a shock when he killed the queen. He gave excellent advice over and over to Taylor who would barely listen. Todd is the progressive wraith, and no one is looking forward into the future to try and co-exist with wraith. None of the characters are intelligent enough to have any foresight about the future. It's just "we need to destroy the wraith" all the characters are like that except the doctor? It's just annoying and dumb. Then Shepard, Ronan and Mckay board a hive ship to try and rescue Taylor, just the three of them, and don't even know if the plan is still ongoing or Taylor is dead. Dumb. Taylor speaks with them and that wraith overhears, so she didn't make sure they were alone, kinda dumb. The wraith taking his time to kill Taylor, kinda dumb, just have Todd interfere earlier and it looks a little less dumb.
As i age i have less tolerance for dumb characters and writing, even given the often cheesy nature of Stargate. I may sound a bit harsh, as overall i think the show is mostly well-written.
The end scene with Todd and Taylor was pretty good though.
I'd give the episode a 6.5 but i'll bump it up to a 7, because the plot of the episode is quite good really, utilizing Taylor to infiltrate as a wraith queen, the twist with Todd, his motives and rise (intrigue), and we see a bit more of the situation of wraith leadership and culture.
