Jack would have had to get from Minnesota back to Colorado somehow, right? Surely he could have used a plane, bus, or train ticket as an alibi… But really, any mode of transport other than by air would would eat up quite a bit of his vacation time—about 12 hours of his vacation each way by car, for example (estimated by looking up directions from SGC to the closest state park in Minnesota, Blue Mounds State Park north of Luverne, MN).
A very good episode. Definitely above and beyond most of the episodes in the series. The Senator is always a great guest character.
