Supernatural: Season 1

1x13 Route 666

This was my least favourite of the episodes so far. The phantom truck seemed gimmicky and not as well-rooted and supported by a legend, folk-lore etc. The explanation of the spirit was great though: the drama with the family, the history of racism. It salvaged itself a little from the all too flashy truck that just didn't seem to fit in with the traditional tones of the film. I appreciated the race message through the spirit backstory however some aspects of dialogue in the present-day seemed too preachy but then again, I'll accept as it was clearly trying to depict the racism that still occurs today as it's important to not just show it all as in the past.

The premise of this ep is a bit absurd, sure, but I think it's interesting in execution.

And, of course deancassie, my beloved

Agree with the other comments here that this one of the weakest episodes of Season 1.

Also, I found Cassie to be insufferable and lacked any personality.

not the best episode. this felt more like a filler than anything. the backstory was developed well, but the truck felt like a gimmick, especially with the way they got rid of the spirit. idk it didn't feel like it lent anything to the series.

No wonder I almost bypassed Supernatural altogether with episodes like this on the loose.

Season 1 is very weak. I'm just going to make believe this show started around season 3. Or even 5.
