This was a little fairytale-ish with the witch. Not a bad performance from the young boy. More revealed about the brothers relationship with their dad.

this was a really interesting episode. i've read a lot of books about shtriga, or striga, depending on spelling, so it was cool to see the writers take on it. we get more 'sam and dean' development and learn more about john (their dad.)

it was really great watching an episode featuring something they've encountered before. getting insights into the boys' relationship as kids and how that changes how they interact with each other now was a great choice from the character development angle.

man, the burden that was placed on dean at such a young age... the mindset of having to look after his brother and being responsible for him... he was basically forced to parent his younger brother while he was still a child himself. hunting and taking care of people is all he's ever known.
