whaaaaay did it have to end with that messed up cliffhanger!?

Sucks that it's cancelled. The ending put forward an interesting take, but I don't know how consistent that would've been. Still would've loved a third season.

Although some episodes were mediocre at best, overall I found this series very enjoyable. Particularly the first few and the final episodes were great. Acting and CGI were excellent and there were not too many time-travel/plot inconsistencies.

brilliant series, such a shame it was cancelled half way through, had potential to go on for years

Started off good in season 1 with a lot of action and a good story. I did like season 2 but it as too long. Could of dumped all the dream sequences and i was not a fan of the Riley story arc to get back to 15 eps. Too much focus on side plots instead of pushing the main plot farther. Summer either works for you or doesn't as a terminator, but the terminator fights were not impressive. Interesting ending but to me it seemed like it would of just deviated more from the main plot.

Nice watch. Storyline is about John Conner. Not about the movie robots.
Enough action for a TV show.

Where all movie franchises go to die: network TV. This half-hearted "parallel world" mythology story was never a success and died slowly over 2 seasons. It mostly was a boring "The Fugitive" kind-of story with some good action stunts and a strong Lena Headey, who is the best thing in the show. Luckily, the show was cancelled so she could go on playing Cersei Lannister on "Game on Thrones" instead. Sadly, the rest of the cast was either bland, terrible (John Connor) or forgettable (Sarah Connor's ex) and Summer Glau was miscast as a pin-up glam blow-up "Terminator" doll for fanboys who loved her in the Joss Whedon shows. Resorted to embarassing stunt casting at the start of 2nd season with Shirley Manson of art-popband Garbage arriving as a new Terminator. The most memorable in the show was seeing the good action stunts and Sonya Walger's appearance which I will not spoil. Forgettable and it also ends with a frustrating non-ending.

The first season was great, it fell apart in the second season though, mostly because they ramped up the episode count, and stretched maybe 12 episodes of story over 22 episodes. It started out well, but the middle of the season had some boring episodes that could have been part of a previous episode, instead of its own episode, but then they seemed to have rushed the final couple episodes when they could have built it out, instead of having the boring mid season episodes. I wish instead of cancelling the show, they would have given it a shorter season like season 1's 9 episodes.

Season 1 was good but season 2 was dire with some of the worst writing in any recently sci-fi...no matter how good actors might be with such awful scripts they didn't stand a chance

Sad to see a series like this with some great episodes - and some dire episodes. At times, it was truly engrossing - but then it wasn't.

But overall, for any sci-fi nerd, it is probably essential viewing to see how the franchise went astray for a while...
