John's a bit slow in this episode. He knows that cranking up the voltage can activate the logic systems. He's just upped the voltage to access more video memory. Then when his phone starts dialing out, he doesn't know what's happening? Really? I call B.S. on that. The first thing that should come to mind is the A.I. chip he's working on is activated and using the phone to dial out. And if the chip needs lots of power, don't worry about anything other than the power supply. Pull the plug first, then worry about everything else. So poorly written.

That and writing a virus for a system you don't know. The virus is another stupid plot element in this episode. You can't write a virus for a system you don't have details on. Just isn't going to work.

Overall this is a pitifully written episode. I remember thinking it was horrible when it first aired. Yep, still horrible.

The only saving grace is the traffic monitoring system. That was actually a good idea for a system to lead to SkyNet.
