I wonder Why so many good shows are canceled and this piece of junk doesn't seem to be heading that way...
I did not remember most of what happens in this show but I'm glad I watched it again. This has hold up fairly well to me and I found the watch very quick and easy. Nothing about this is mind blowing but it was entertaining which is more than I can say of a lot of shows. Sad this never got a few more seasons.
Sadly, it started out quite okay and went straight down hill.
It's pretty unimaginative. That's true. But a fun concept with hopefully a couple of twists. But it's from Fox I think so ... Not expecting anything too intelligent. i like the main actor though. He was great in Life on Mars.

Hahaha, this is a joke, right? Guns & Dinos? That's all there is? It seems as if the whole budget went straight into the rendering-queue. I was hoping, half the cast would get slashied by a slashytail (!), halfway through. Awful!
There is less than a hand full of actors here who actually are any good, most really dont seem to know what they are doing.
In the basis it's an interesting story and a quite fresh look upon multiple ideas taken from other sci-fi series.
Like already the ring from Stargate for example :) Still I enjoyed watching it.

God damn it, I want to know where the boat came from! Generally good acting, decent storylines and not bad CGI for 2011 TV.
A shame I won’t get a season 2. Could quite happily watch more now the time travel thing is more prevalent.

Why can't they find a way to get this show back, the actors were pretty good, the story was original and interesting, what more could a man want. They should do at least one or two more seasons...
I really miss that Show a lot. I would love to have a new Season to have more Answers on whats happening there.

My favorite show in a long time and it was dropped after the first season. It's sad that a show with such promise ended especially when they could have done so much with it.
Great series with a cool fresh concept. Every episode is spent developing the core stories of the main characters, and setting up for the series finale. Sad it didn't get a second season, stupid Fox network. (They did this to a great show Firefly too)
So much potential, so much budget and all gone. I'm sorry for this show, it could be so much better.
They always cancel good sci-fi shows and leave on crappy "reality" shows.

This show grew on me. It started really slow and got better. By the time you reach episode 8 and on it finally turns into a decent program...the finale was very good - that's more of the quality the entire show should have been. This show had soo much potential...and it really got interesting towards the end.
terrible, terrible show. wonderful potential with the ideas marred by the typical family friendly christian values crap, as well as unlikable characters. Perfect example of pop-scifi.

That's a damn shame about the cancellation. It really got better by the end.
Now we never get to see what the badlands were and if there really was a second portal there somewhere from presumably the Bermuda Triangle.
Don't hold your breath for a reappearance on another network, this was one of the most expensive tv shows ever made. I doubt that another network wants to burn its fingers on something so expensive (The two-hour premiere was rumoured to have cost between $10 million and $20 million) that has quite a few low ratings and dwindling viewers.

It starts picking up at the end. It still feels like an australian sitcom at times and you have to sit through a ton of bad acting, a lot of character decisions where you think 'how could anyone be this stupid?' and a bunch of irrelevant sidestories. But the main story arch itself is pretty good and starts somewhere around episode 7-8. Haven't seen the finale yet. But has potential to be great :)
Damn it, this season finale was the best of this fall season until now! LOVED! Hope they make a second season.

Filipe. This show is not "SciFi". Its a sad attempt, however its a melodrama for preteen girls. Its a flop on the SciFi community which means it will last lany seasons. Please don't compare this to heroes, dollnhouse, fire fly.
Well, I do hope it gets a chance to show a second season. I know others have expressed their dislike but I rather enjoy it esp. the last episode (1x09).

The best part of this show was the first half of the pilot episode. The rest is just kinda... fluffy
I think I'm the only one who likes this show. I miss monster-of-the-week shows, now that everyone seems to think shows have to have a ton of romantic drama and character development/background nonsense. I'm fine with a bunch of averagely interesting characters who have a new problem to deal with each week.

Cannot stand the cheesy son and his "girlfriend". Why have this unrealistic drama, love story in what could have been a superb SciFi fantasy show. People, tour world is over! All you loved have died, don't sing and strum your banjo and sing fruity songs. Go kill something, get angry. You left your friends behind to rot and die of black lung. Seriously. This is the cheesiest, uneventful, predictable, waste of money in tv history since the remake of "Knight Rider" and the transforming mustang/ truck disaster. Good grief. If Spielberg ruins the movie "Robotapocolypse" with this style. His career is and will be over.

I find it hard to believe they could come up with such an innovative premise and turn it into... this.
The son is annoying, as is the all too unsubtle music. I like the premise, but the show just feels stupid and filled with the kind of boring family bullcrap one would expect from Spielberg.
They didn't just get Stephen Lang, they copy+pasted his entire character from Avatar! Cheeky.

The script was lazy with it's exposition including the pinacle "...but I'm sure you all already know that". One glossed over line of dialogue that says this is not Bradbury' The Sound of Thunder and no one has to worry about the effect of their actions. This line came amongst the terrible scene of the sister explaining to the brother the probe that discovered all of this as if he has never even heard of it. This was covered with a lame, don't you pay attention in school. Write for the characters, not the audience.
Apart for a "touching" scene with the little girl feeding (!) the dinosaurs, why are the fences around the compund low enough for dinosaurs to lean over?!
On the subject of the little girl and by extension her Father, why aren't they in custody. Surely sending the future of humanity all the way to another timeline (I'm sure that was the glossy line) people would be scanned for viruses etc. They were announced as stowaways so why did no one follow them through or no one at the other end shoot them and burn the bodies. It's the future of humanity!
