The Crown

Season 2

Amazing 2 seasons.
Sad that they will change actors .. if it's good why change it? They could do like in This is Us where they age the actors...

Boy, do I love the chemistry between Phillip and Elizabeth's actors. It is pretty well portrayed how things behind closed doors can be so awful even with people who "have it all". Prince Charle's school episode broke my heart.

fabulous season. I can't believe this is the last we'll see of Claire Foy's Elizabeth

Season 2 of The Crown is still very good, but can't reach the heights of season 1 for me. Admittedly, the lack of John Lithgow was always going to do that, but I still feel as if the show didn't do a whole lot to keep things fresh and interesting after the novelty of the first season wore off. Still, the performances remain incredible and the look of the show is just as fantastic. This season did do a lot more for Philip as a character which was done really well and was maybe the most enjoyable aspect. Season 1 overall may have had more intriguing stories and events, but this is still very good.

Really good writing and acting choices. Every actor who played an American was a perfect choice for the role

Love the ending scene of this season.

The Crown season 2 feels like a better and more interesting product than season 1, but I really dislike its structure. The flavor of the week style where there's very little thematic continuity from episode to episode, we deal with one specific problem and idea pretty much entirely in a vacuum and ignore all the other ongoing elements of the show, is just bad TV. This season also focuses a lot on Philip and I find the writing for his character so odd and inconsistent in what he wants and how guilty he really is. The ideas and events that are tackled in the episodic format are interesting though, and I feel more interested in the characters, particularly Elizabeth, than I did in season 1 (though Margaret got much less interesting, and her relationship with weird photographer is so silly and she has been largely ignored since the marriage). It's close to a 6 but I'm still giving it a 7. Claire Foy is a very good actress.

Season 2 of the 'The Crown', just like S1, is very, very good.

Great acting, terrific music, brilliant locations and, most importantly, a set of stories that are fascinating. It still isn't edge-of-your-seat television, but that's not an issue if the writers and onscreen talent do marvellous jobs - which they do. I will say, not that it's a big deal, I'm not sure the majority of episodes need to be 59-60mins long - you could trim a bit of fat, even if only by 5-9mins, and the impact would still be the same.

A shame this is the last season for Claire Foy, who is again utterly fantastic as Queen Elizabeth II. I can't see Olivia Colman exceeding her in S3, though I'm still very much intrigued to see how it plays out. The rest of the cast, spearheaded by Matt Smith (Philip) and Anton Lesser (Harold Macmillan), again work ideally. It is also great to see Michael C. Hall appear, albeit briefly.

It's not quite as good as the opening season, but this second offering is still right up there; even including one of my favourite episodes so far (#9).

Building on Season 1, this was a totally enjoyable and enthrawling season; I'm so excited to see season 3

This show really is a must for everyone IMHO
