Poor casting choice for the roles of Charles’ left and right ear.

They were a bit too subtle with that boat metaphor, almost missed it. They maybe, I dunno, should've had 5-14 more characters make the exact same comparison out loud? 15 characters, to be safe.

Amazin start for the new season. The new cast is great so far. They maybe overdid the fictional stuff a bit here but in general very good episode that also delivers on the visual side.

Ah, yes. When you have to choose whether you want to fix an old ship or letting it rot in peace but you don't see the fucking iceberg. I missed this. Solid continuation of the previous season so far of who gives in and who keeps fighting. Imelda Staunton looks like she has both the naive optimism of young Lilibeth and the cold sternness of Coleman, but it remains to be seen if her sympathy and remorse will keep showing up and question her like before. Promising start, and for some reason I can't wait for the mandatory Margaret episode.

Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in.

I am definitely not liking the casting choices made for this seaon

Debicki is frighteningly good at channeling Princess Di.

The more we get into near-past/present, the more boring I think this show gets. There's no real suspense because I've grown up with reading about these scandals in the papers. That's the difference to the previous seasons which I could watch with a fresh eye.

Surprisingly, I really like Staunton's Queen - I think she's a better fit than Coleman ever was.

Don't care about Charles, don't care about Diana whose only accomplishment is the doe-like gaze through her eyelashes. Found the depiction of the boys interesting: William trying to support his mother, Harry always perching on his father's shoulders (just for the pictures?).

Contrasting the modern yacht with the Britannia, just like they're contrasting Charles and Elizabeth as modern vs outdated... was good but a bit overdone after about 5 minutes.

Dear me, overdoing the fiction already... implying that John Major was interesting lol
But on a more serious note, the Abdication poll and Charles meeting the PM - utter rot. The poll result was 53% AGAINST an abdication, and even the 47% were only in favour 'at some point' ie. Not immediately...
