The Dropout 2022

They took an incredibly interesting story and somehow made it boring/annoying. Not sure what's up with the obnoxious volume music throughout. I'll watch a few more episodes in the hopes it improves. Just seems off. Like the actors are doing a good job but the way it's edited together it doesn't draw you in.

Oh man, this was one hell of a limited series. Elizabeth Meriwether told the story of one of the most baffling revelations in medical history but used her amazing quirky humour to tell it. Elizabeth Holmes is not a figure that's easy to sympathize with but Amanda Seyfried gives a humane portrayal of a shady entrepreneur (from the looks of who'll be up for an Emmy this year, Seyfried definitely deserves the prize). Solid performances throughout with some very cringey moments to make viewers laugh or cover their eyes. I know Adam McKay and Jennifer Lawrence are trying to do a film about Holmes, but this already did it. Solid.

I just finished this series & I thought it was amazingly good! I couldn’t binge it in one setting & it kept me anxious coming back each day! Look at the quality of actors, Macy, Waterston etc. Just a top notch series IMHO!

This was a good watch. I thought it was going to end up like "Inventing anna" but thankfully, no.
They did leave out the court stuff out of this after things were falling apart in the last episode. They should have added a few more episodes on following up on Holmes and Sunny during and after the case, that would've been one good solid season with like 13 to 15 episodes.
Amanda nailed portraying the weird character of Holmes and so did Naveen portray the creepy character of Sunny.
Overall, a decent watch for people who are new to the Theranos story. For a deep dive it is better to watch documentaries on YouTube which have a more in-depth explanation of what happened or HBO's The Inventor.

Zuckerberg but dangerous (because health sector)and busted one.Bang, bang, bang! Highly reccomended in many ways like entrepreneurialism and informativeness.

Seyfried is really killer in this–it’s really just a showcase for that batshit performance. For the rest, though, it’s probably best to just read Carreyrou’s book.

Elizabeth Holmes scamming rich folks with just a high school diploma is the wildest thing about The Dropout. The fact that all these incredibly accomplished and powerful men got conned, on fake blood test machine without actually seeing how it worked from the get-go, by a woman with split ends, is truly baffling to me. It’s probably so hard to make Amanda Seyfried’s hair look bad.

How does a person become a billionaire when selling nothing... she sold nothing. My theory is Elizabeth Holmes couldn’t handle the failure of her invention because she was so used to succeeding. & so she felt like she had to see it through…

Naveen Andrews is too charismatic to project how grotesque the Elizabeth Holmes/Sunny Balwani relationship was in real life. The age gap (Sunny was 37 when he met Elizabeth (18 at that time) and power imbalance is minimized when he and Amanda Seyfried look like two badly styled, vulnerable, hot people.

Watched it three times. Incredible and fascinating on so many levels.

Great show. Well put together, skillfully acted and compelling. I’m a sucker for the Elizabeth Holmes story because it’s such a fascinating tale of ego and charisma being a vehicle for fraud.

Great show. I was hooked even though I’d watched the HBO documentary first. The story is really unbelievable. Amanda and Naveen delivered amazing performances.

I bet this bitch is going to get off with a slap on the wrist while Sunny will have the book thrown at him.

Amanda Seyfried becomes the great success of a series that analyzes the creation of psychopathy thanks to a system that rewards personality over results. Moving away from a simple imitation as a compulsive liar, the character that Seyfried creates has a deep conviction, and that is why the representation of her is more complex. The series shines above all in the first episodes directed by Michael Showalter.

An interesting short show about a real event

Okay okay the show is generally great and there’s a lot of excellent aspects but oh man… Amanda Seyfried is outstanding. Easily one of the best performances in both TV and film of recent years.
