Was good, gone Woke, de listed.
Was a good show, but stopped watching it, too much woke garbage.
It won't last for too long.
The emotion is a bit forced although carried out well.Lot's of stereotypical scenes and you can see season 1's plot laid out in the first episode.
It's so woke!!! Cringe. Just tell the story, and stop trying to be the message.
After season 3 it went kinda downhill, I'm not that exited about new episodes anymore, maybe I should drop it.
Loved the first seasons. However, it became less focused on Shawn's capabilities as a surgeon and more focused on drama. Season 3 is pure drama, so I stopped halfway through.
guys I think he's a surgeon I think that's what the director is trying to tell us
One of the worst shows to ever exist along side BBT and Young Sheldon.
Right now Shaun Murphy just a shadow of himself, and the show is not about him anymore, but everybody else. Just watch the first 3 seasons and drop it afterwards...
Saccharine crap. Only made it through 3 episodes.
Amazing medical tv show, way better than The resident in my opinion.
Freddie's performance was so convincing that I had to look up if he was actually autistic (he's not) xD.
Enjoyed it from start to finish.
Unbelievably formulaic. Two patients, resolve at end of show, lots of banter and discussion with side (personal stories) of the main characters thrown in for filler. Pretty weak overall. Very little tension. Tackles social issues as much as medical ones (eating disorders, family interaction etc.). Rock climbing injury girl in one episode was same girl as was in Charmed as the "Harbinger Demon" airing just a week apart. Instead of rock climbing injuries she should have had demon possessing injuries and have been in the hospital on The Good Doctor. Would have made it more interesting but the casting between these shows is getting repetitive. Step up producers.
I find the show, in general, pretty boring overall. I was never a fan of medical dramas, not my cup of tea, but may be yours.
It was interesting to watch the first few episodes of this show but I didn't like Highmore's acting here (and I generally like the movies and tv series he's appeared in). It wasn't believable for me. I completely forgot to watch the rest of this show when just yesterday, I came across a Korean drama that was titled Good Doctor. I watched the first episode and I thought wait a minute... This Korean drama was in 2013 and has the exact same story and now I find out the American version is based on that. The Korean version has better acting from the main character.
Sounds like this show is a cross between "Dougie Houser M.D.," "House" and "Chicago Med" (Dr. Latham).
"Mother..."
The woke doctor, instead doing loveable histories, they prefer throw at the audience the whole too woke to be true but so hard that, that Defy reality. I let my girl choose the show, and I noticed there are 6 seasons.
Freddy Highmore was in my opinion a really good actor, in Bates motel he was incredible, and so was the rest of the cast. In the good doctor however, he turned after a couple of seasons in an annoying know it all. For me after season 3 almost all the cast became so annoying and really don't act like doctors anymore. His wife, Lea, runs all alone the complete IT department for a big hospital??? The ridiculous things that she says about software, hardware and so on make me think that the writers don't know the first thing about anything even related to ITC. And every doctor in that place operates on every possible disease, injury or whatever is wrong with the patient? This is really so unbelievable, and the whole cast is so terribly annoying and frankly in my opinion just not really good actors.... I'll start rewatch Dr. House or some other believable or at least entertaining show about a hospital....this is just too bad to watch anymore.
S1 E14 disappointed me with the case of a transgender child and everyone willing to accepting it.
A child should not have the luxury of choosing what she/he wants because she/he is a child. Parents should not support such a nonsense either. Otherwise, a child can have choices and become a whatever he/she wants
The quality of this show went downhill; just keep watching for shaun & lea, which is the only thing interesting
Currently watching the original Korean "Good Doctor" after that will start this to see the difference.
Watched a couple of episodes and these seemed OK but then found the original Korean show “Good Doctor”. Enjoyed this greatly. Had the usual K-drama advantage of being designed for only one season so the story was told from beginning to end. No season-ending cliffhanger to be bothered with. The slight difference in title seemed appropriate for the Korean version.
Thats no Doctor It's Norman Bates.
Freddie Highmore is such an incredible actor. His performance in this tv show as a genius autistic doctor is absolutely amazing. If you debated on whether or not to pick up this new show for watching, do it!! You will not be disappointed.
The good doctor is based on a Korean drama with the same name that I already watched and liked, and this adaptation of it does not disappoint, I am really looking forward to how it will unfold
Could this be the new "House"
THE GOOD DOCTOR is back for its third season and all we like about it is still there: Shaun Murphy is still figuring out how to handle the "out of his control" aspects of his life; a great cast is still giving great performances; there are episodic medical dilemmas and season long character arcs. My rating remains unchanged, I give this series an 8 (great) out of 10. [Medical Drama]
When I first heard about The Good Doctor, and that it was a medical series created by David Shore, I though F YEAH ! This is going to be another House MD ! But sadly I was disappointed by the final result. It's not like House at all. It's not a serious, gritty yet funny and entertaining show with well written characters and high quality performances. It's a childish show that is nothing but a 'filler' to me now. Character backgrounds are far from original. The episode plots are not that realistic. It's still nice to watch but not something to look forward to every week. I don't see it evolving positively throughout future seasons. I wish it was more than what it is...
disclaimer: I'm a huge House MD fan. Maybe my expectations were simply too high.
Is this a good watch?
very interesting program, you get a sense of reality......
Brilliant acting by Freddie highmore, had me checking to see if he really had a problem in rel life. I found the whole show fascinating with good acting from the supporting cast.
I was hooked from the very first episode.
How are you not watching this?????? he was amazing in bates motel and doesn't disappoint in this either!!!!!
Very interesting. Wanting to see more.
The schmaltz is strong work this one
Starts out really good, but man it just got unwatchable those final seasons. I really tried to push through it because I did like the storyline with Shawn navigating relationships, but the rest of it gets extremely woke and preachy. Yet another casualty of PC culture. And for the record I grew up with Star Trek. They were one of the first to do a strong female lead, a black woman as XO, a black captain. Mind you in times when these were very controversial thinks to do. There is a place for pushing the envelope and getting us to question our social norms, and then there is whatever this preachy self-indulgent crap was supposed to be. PC culture is ruining entertainment in this country and for what? A very small (albeit very loud and whiny) minority of the population. Most of us normal joes are sick of this. We don't want you shoving tranny procedures for kids down our throat, we want a good show with relatable characters and thoughtful writing.
The Good Doctor is a medical drama that follows the life of Dr. Shaun Murphy, a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome. The show follows Shaun as he navigates the world of medicine, while also dealing with the challenges of his condition. The show is a heartwarming and inspiring look at how someone with a disability can still make a difference in the world. The show is well-written and the characters are well-developed. The performances are strong, and the show is filled with moments of humor and drama. The Good Doctor is a must-watch for anyone looking for a show that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. It's a show that will make you laugh, cry, and think. Highly recommended!
A really unique and exciting doctor show about a young surgeon who has down syndrome and has to defy all odds in his journey to become an attending, despite his incredible gifts like a photographic memory that help him be the great surgeon he is. This is a emotional roller coaster of a drama, like most are as Shaun finds love and comes up against foes. However, what makes this a unique show compared to something like Grey's Anatomy, is that the plot development moves faster, and the audience's interest in the other characters is almost as intriguing as the main character.
My sister made me watch it, made me want to be a surgeon for a week then got over it. Meh. Too long
can't stand it anymore. this endless wedding. bye
i realy love this show. it never lost my attention.
I love this show. What a premise. Latest 2021 season turning a bit Grey’s Anatomy, but I’m hooked.
I don't know if any of the actual surgeons really have to speak with patients and I honestly don't really care but when watching this show it makes me think that if people aren't such drama queens life would be so much easier.
This is a good show. I'm on S1e13 now. I could imagine as if this is some kind of House M.D prequel. If House was quite a bit less functioning than he was in the show. For me the comparison to House is unavoidable. A quirky anti-social yet brilliant doctor solves rare medical mysteries in original ways each week. There are some differences though. Where House anti-social behavior lies in his somewhat sociopathic tendencies Murphy is autistic and he just can't help it. The show is well-paced and it is entertaining to see Murphy overcome the challenges of being a high functioning autistic doctor.
The only downside I can see about this show is it's trying to inject social justice in some of its episodes. While normally there is nothing wrong with this it gets pretty annoying when this is so obvious you are rolling your eyes in your chair.
For example, In the first episode when the president of the hospital tries to convince the board to hire an autistic doctor he gives a speech about how they should hire him because he's different so that other different people will see they got a shot. We can do better, we need to do better...etc... This is a moving speech, but this isn't the strongest argument to hire Murphy. The strongest argument is that objectively he's an asset. He objectively can do things that are very helpful to surgeons that other surgeons can't do. He has a significant edge over other candidates. And this edge outshines any disadvantages he has. In other words, the argument should have been not "We should hire him because he's different". The argument should have been: "We should hire him because objectively he's the best person for the job."
This is just a minor gripe though this is far from being the only example. I hope the won't get even more forceful with their 'wokeness' so far it's well within the bearable range. Like I said. It's a good show.
This show never shows in my calendar even though i have it listed. Very fustrating
Wait, one episode a god miracle save the pacient. Don't go to the hospital, go to a church.
Great show, love that it has a bit of everything to offer, Comedy, Drama, Romance.
this has to be one of the most incredible shows this season please bring it back for seasons to come
I have only watched the pilot episode so far but it didn’t leave me disappointed, I can’t wait to watch the other 7 episodes
Um! I didn’t realize this TV Series only had 8 episodes, a shorty for an US TV production, although normal for UK BBC but then each episodes would last around 55 minutes.
It seems abc does not trust the show will survive this mini season and the audience numbers probably aren’t helping it at all. If they were nearly as good as House M.D. they would have already extended the first season to a full regular season.
Seeing they haven’t extended it, we should fear the worst, the show will most likely be cancelled at the end of this atypical first season “due to a lack of enough audience to sustain the investment”.

Episode S04E03
It's getting harder and harder to ignore the Woke nonsense coming from the show. In the first scene of the episode, they have people who are essentially interviewing for a job(New residents looking to get hired by the hospital) talking about their sexual preferences. Why would anyone go: "I graduated from so and so, did so and so projects, and also, I'm gay." Why?
Later Browne and Reznic are having a heated argument and a guy tries to diffuse the situation, so they snap at him for 'mansplaining' after which they forget about their argument.
And then later, they asked the residents an open question and one of them hesitates goes like "Emm...." so the same guy steps in and gives his answer. What do they do? Of course, chastize him for daring to interrupt a woman. Even though the woman didn't say anything besides 'emm' they tell him that "He doesn't always need to be the one to speak first". And who chastised him? Dr. Reznic. A character who has 'do whatever it takes to win" personality and will do anything to advance her career even at others' expense. Suddenly this character cares sees something wrong with being the first to speak, when she did the exact same thing to Claire Browne when they were residents.
Later the senior residents talk about the new residents, they say they want to convince Dr. Lim not to hire the mansplaining guy. Because he's arrogant. Yet they praise another doctor(a woman) who is more opinionated than the mansplaining guy as confident. And that's a plus. So when a guy talks first and gives his opinion, he's a bad doctor, because he's arrogant. Yet when a woman does the same thing, it's good, because she's confident.
Also, can you guess what ethnicity this 'asshole' guy is? Do you really need to guess? It's obvious it's the only white straight male in the resident pool. And of course in the end they did not hire him, because he's 'obnoxious' and 'arrogant'. As if Dr. Mendez wasn't obnoxious and arrogant and as if arrogance isn't a common trait in surgeons.
