Wow, just wow... Talk about roller coaster..
It was great to see that cameo, of Dr. Wilson. But I'm shocked that they would have his character not even phased by the fact that he had to have his leg amputated all of a sudden and just ecstatic that his fish is why they found out about the cancer. I also found the end weird in the sense that the cops stood around with their thumbs up their asses while Claire just walked right onto the scene and right up to the driver's window, and why weren't they doing anything with her mother yet? It just seemed unorthodox. But I did have my suspicions when they showed Claire purposely choose to keep the one unopened bottle and tried to tuck it behind other things. And it was mentioned multiple times that her mom had a problem with alcohol. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the episode, especially when you would see how overjoyed and excited Claire would get when she first had seen her name outside of the operating room and when it was all over! The "Claire" episode was good! What is with people bitching about the drama? What the hell do you think is going to be in the show? Nothing but surgeries? Even "House" (or any other show for that matter) has to have storylines, character development. If you don't like the show then just piss off and find something else that you might like!
Probably the best episode the show's done so far, and a most welcome shake-up from the more-of-the-same vibe I'd gotten from the first couple of episodes of the season.
I'm not terribly enamoured with the ending, though. It feels like something of a cop-out, an admission from the writers that they didn't know where to take the relationship between Claire and her mother. I appreciate the relapse-as-reaction-to-good-things-happening of it all, but the event itself lacked impact (pun most definitely not intended). Death is senseless, but coming at the end of an episode with such an all-encompassing focus on this one character, the lack of meaning in its feeble play for... dramatic irony (I guess?) is much more obvious than it probably would have been in a normal episode. It shouldn't take much away from what's otherwise a fantastic effort from everyone involved, but it's still an unfortunate choice.
I guess Claire will blame herself. Perhaps if she had not sent that photo, her Mum wouldn't have gone out, got the booze. It probably would have happend some other way though.
This show is veering away from medical drama into just plain drama, and honestly it's getting boring.
Maybe it's the fact that I don't really like any of the characters, and so I just simply don't care about their lives.
This season is great so far.
I feel so happy for Claire. Too bad what happened at the end but it was also necessary. Dr. Wilson's case was very amusing.
Wilsooooooonnn
And damn he got cancer (yeah I know it wasn't serious)
Again!
I'd love to see other house characters on this show :D

Dr. Wilson, a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
