I'm not sure how I feel about that ending; it felt a little too contrived. Bearing in mind how troublesome that particular set of handmaidens were, you'd think they'd at least put two guards in the van or chain the women into the vehicle so they can't just do a runner - like they did.
It reminded me of that similarly contrived moment when June was in hospital last season, left entirely unsupervised. Also, considering how generally shrewd June is made out to be, to leave Aunt Lydia conscious so she could raise the alarm was another convenient plot contrivance. Still, the escape scene was enjoyably dramatic.

I’m glad we had 3 episodes to kick start us into season 3.. I needed it to remind me of Gilead life! And boy it did... Blessed day!

Great scenes, stupid plot.
I mean how much time did the other handmaids and Mayday have since they lost the last house and June?
And what did they do? Absolutely nothing? Sure.
And once more June is left alive against all reason, while Gilead loves to kill people (and handmaids) for far less.
Last but not least, June has some interesting idea what her secret was worth. Two women died and ultimately it was for nothing?
The soundtrack was very good.
This was one of the most gripping episodes I've seen from this show. Just gotta get that out there. The ending was a gut punch.
Why do these victims still believe in god? How do they justify what happened to them? The show should be discussing and raising awareness for atheism, not 'praying for June' and lighting candles.
Damnit not Alma... Ughhhhhhhhhhh, this is gonna be another season that hits us hard in the feels, I can tell already.

I had the impression we knew the two women on the rooftop, but to realize after the fact that they were the ones that we first met working for Lawrence... :cry:

Then there's that beautifully sad escape sequence. I knew it would be sad before it even started but I thought they were going to be forced to give up before the crossing, not that.
