Not the last time they'll be in therapy.

[7/10] This episode isn’t perfect, but it’s one of the precious few shorts that feels like it presages the spirit of the full Simpsons television series. Something about the Simpson family going to a therapist, griping about one another, blowing past the therapist’s patience, uniting in opposition to him, and then laughing at his reaction to them feels very true to the tone the show would take down the line. It scans as an embryonic version of their escapades with Dr. Marvin Monroe in “There’s No Disgrace Like Home”. There’s not a ton of laughs here, but there’s some wry observational humor baked into the central idea which I appreciate.
