"Bart the Murderer" is a decent episode that sees Bart become inadvertently affiliated with the Mafia. While there is some genuinely good humour in this one, I felt the plot was highly disjointed and outright nonsensical at times. It's a shame because this could have been a solid episode with a more grounded story.

Overall, a decent episode that could have been better.

I hadn't seen this one in a long time, and was kind of surprised at how middling it is. It's still peak-era Simpsons, so there's still good quality humor and set pieces, but the story felt a bit disjointed at times and ridiculous in others. It's never outright bad; at worst the episode putters merrily along with chuckles to be had, but it's not quite the firing-on-all-cylinders verve that I expect from the show at this stage of its lifespan.
