toni collette is just spectacular in her scenes. just. so unreasonably talented.
for people surprised about the verdict happening already, this is only part of the story that the original case is based on; there's still plenty more to be adapted on screen.
75 I The verdict of the case was way faster than we thought. The Staircase seems not only focus on Kathleen's death case but also on the effects of that case. It is shown from the perspective of Sophie. It was a beautiful way of storytelling. But the court sequences felt too short. We also did not get much of Jim Hardin's perspective on the case. That is why when the verdict came out it felt off because it felt a bit unexpected. The Staircase is not about Kathleen but it is about Mike Peterson.
