Top Gear of the Pops is a one-off musical special of the motoring show featuring Travis, Supergrass, McFly (given the task of writing a song in ten minutes) and finally Justin Hawkins - supported by Clarkson on drums, Hammond on bass and May on the keys.

The Top Gear team of James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond swap the steering wheel for the shovel as they embark on a Ground Force style makeover challenge as part of Sport Relief.

The Top Gear team of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond decide, for Sport Relief to resurrect the show Ground Force, and provide a garden makeover to the garden of one of Britain's 'sporting legends', namely Sir Stephen Redgrave. Helping them are a team of Poles.

As the team's only 'country bumpkin' Hammond is the team leader. However, his garden plan fails to impress Clarkson and May, who want to include a water feature and a shed, respectively. They are sent to a Wyevale Garden Centre to pick up supplies, returning with their desired equipment.

Hammond uses a small digger to dig a trench, to be used to create a 'river of gravel.' Clarkson earlier revealed his unique method for pulling up weeds and cutting branches off trees using a shotgun. Hammond's digger topples over in the trench, so he returns with a much larger digger to pull it out, resulting in leaving numerous Caterpillar tracks marks all over the garden. Meanwhile, James and the Poles have completed the shed.

Hammond's tree seat is completed. He brings in a 14 tone crane to hook the seat so he could slip it over the tree. Despite the machine getting stuck, the crane is long enough to hook onto the seat. Because he had not got the hang of the crane, he accidentally swished it sideways, destroying both the shed and the seat.

Clarkson decides to remove a rockery by using a homemade bomb. During the explosion one wall of the shed James built is smashed. After this happens May steps out of the shed with a plank of wood, and asks what time the programme will air. After being informed it was going to air after the watershed, he exclaims 'you're a fu-'. At this point, the episode cuts to the next scene.

Jeremy orders some cement to pave over the garden, but he orders too little, and only a small

Cars! Film! Cars on film! Film involving cars! You get the idea. It’s basically a Blu-ray involving those two things.

Gasp as we find the perfect drift car for a gritty, Bourne Identity-style chase! Cheer as we stage a race for all those unsung heroes of the movie industry! Whoop as we find the car that makes the perfect dramatic exhaust note to dub onto an action sequence! Make some other sort of noise we haven’t thought of yet as we re-attempt the classic Man With The Golden Gun barrel roll, having frankly made a total hash of it when we first tried it on telly! All this plus a vast fleet of sexy supercars and a man with a jet pack racing a Skoda.

Top Gear At The Movies. It’s better than an actual movie. Probably. Actually, it depends on which movie we’re talking about. Truth is, you’d be better judging this on a case-by-case basis. Why not write to us with the name of a film and we’ll tell you whether this Blu-ray is better or not. Actually, on second thoughts, don’t.

The specially-produced episode titled Top Gear: A Tribute To Sabine will see Top Gear’s current presenters Freddie Flintoff, Chris Harris and Paddy McGuinness – joined by former hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

Another chance to see some highlights of the recent series featuring Chris Harris, Freddie Flintoff and Paddy McGuinness messing around in cars.

Freddie attempts to drive 200mph in a Jaguar XJ220, the team try out some of James Bond's greatest cars, and the Lamborghini Sian gets a test drive.

Chris, Freddie and Paddy attempt to drive insurance write-offs around a terrifying Wall of Death, Chris reviews the Ferrari SF90, and the boys race around Alton Towers in electric cars.

More highlights from recent series of the motoring show. Featuring another outing for Paddy McGuinness's ice cream van, a tribute to Stirling Moss, the Top Gear Mid Life Crisis Triathlon, and two very different takes on Italian Supercar.

The presenters are challenged to spend 24 hours in company cars in Paddy’s home town of Bolton, and Freddie races an Extreme E electric off-roader against a man in a jet pack.

Chris Harris, Paddy McGuiness and Freddie Flintoff aren't choosing their own cars, but instead choosing for one another. After unwrapping their presents in the Welsh village of Bethlehem, the trio set off on a yuletide trek across Britain, stopping off to play the game of `High-Speed Visual Charades" and deliver an enormous tree to the Unesco World Heritage city of Bath. Then it's time for the presenters to visit the Top Gear test track, transformed into a winter wonderland of speed.

Special 115 Vietnamese special

Freddie, Chris and Paddy set out to revolutionise the world of caravanning with the help of some new electric cars and some very small caravans. Chris lives the high life in Maserati’s new MC20 supercar, and Paddy pays tribute to the legendary Eddie Kidd.

Paddy reviews the very rare, very expensive Aston Martin Victor. The team sample some classic TV cop cars before going head-to-head in an all-action police chase, and Paddy and Chris set out on an expedition across Iceland with the help of some temperamental old British cars.

The lads are in Lillehammer for their version of the Winter Olympics. So expect amongst other things: car ice-hockey - with Suzuki Swifts - Jeremy trying to drive the new Jaguar XK around the rink faster than a speed skater and Stig riding a snowmobile down the ski-jump. James and Jeremy compete against each other in a biathlon using an Audi Q7 and a Volvo XC90, with the loser having to eat yellow snow.

There's also a spectacular attempt to send a rocket-powered Mini down the ski-jump.

The boys travel to Africa with a mission: they must each buy a car – but not a 4x4 – for no more than £1,500. They must then drive the cars they buy across fairly unforgiving terrain in Botswana. Also, Stig’s African cousin makes an appearance.

Jeremy, Richard and James are dropped deep in the Bolivian rainforest armed only with three shabby 4x4s which they bought untested over the internet from local small ads for a maximum of 3500 pounds each. They attempt to drive them from the heart of Bolivia to the coast of Chile, encountering local drug lords, the debilitating effects of high altitude and the terrifying sheer drops of the infamous Death Road along the way.

The East Coast Road Trip (AKA "USA Super Car Road Trip" or the "3rd USA Road Trip") was the name of the first of two standalone specials which aired prior to Series 16 in early 2011, airing on the 21st of December, 2010, the other special being the Middle East Special which aired five days later on Boxing Day. It was presented by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, with The Stig not appearing due to the ongoing lawsuit between the BBC and Ben Collins, the driver who portrayed the tame racing driver's second incarnation. Danny Boyle was the guest star.

In this episode, the trio were tasked with traveling from North Carolina to New York in a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, a Ferrari 458 Italia and a Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

The Africa Special is a Top Gear special in which Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May attempt to find the true source of the River Nile in secondhand estate cars on a budget. It was the first special in Top Gear history to be split into two parts and air across two episodes, airing as the sixth and seventh episodes in the nineteenth series. The team traveled through Central Africa to achieve this goal, starting in Uganda and traveling through Rwanda to reach their final destination in Tanzania. The special was originally slated as a Christmas Special for 2012 and was filmed in the same year, however it was pushed back and aired in 2013 instead.

Special 125 Burma Special

  • 2014-03-09T19:00:00Z1h

The Burma Special was a two-part special episode of the BBC motoring show Top Gear which saw the three presenters using a trio of derelict lorries to travel across Burma, also known by its modern name of Myanmar, to Thailand in order to construct a bridge over the River Kwai, in reference to the 1957 movie starring Alec Guinness. The special aired as the penultimate and final episode in Top Gear's twenty-first series, on the 9th of March, 2014 and the 16th of March, 2014 respectively. The special aired in two parts like 2013's Africa Special which preceded it, and 2014's later Patagonia Special, which succeeded it. The combined runtime of both episodes is 125 minutes, or 2 hours and 5 minutes.

The Burma Special faced controversy after its airing when viewers complained that Jeremy and Richard made racist remarks in the second part of the episode by referring simultaneously to the gradient on their bridge and a local Thai man crossing it.
