Fair start of the season. I remember last season was a bit of a miss, so hopefully this one would be a bit better, especially since it is the final one.
I’ve never really liked Kelsey & Zane’s relationship so I am honestly glad that is over. I hope Kelsey gets some character development this season and not constantly be in that hesitant lost state. That scene with Charles telling her about Zane quitting and how he made a choice and chose her over him, only to have her storm off, was so bad.
Diana’s presence is missed, Laurel is just too over the top for me.
So is that the end of Charles and Liza’s love? I have to admit I was Team Charles until they got together. After that, things were just off and there was a lot of unease in their relationship contrasted with the continuous sizzling chemistry between her and Josh!
this show is a dying/dead breed and this season is so bad I can’t stop watching
Ok this is excessive. I mean not only is this entire season excessive but this first episode is filled with just "too much" from the heart to heart conversation between Liza and Josh about how they are "each others's person" and they don't need to define each other's relationship. To the weird C plot about Josh being paranoid that his baby mama is going to steal his baby. It feels too much like we're trying to get every idea out because this is the last time we're going to be doing this. Umph even that ending conversation between Liza and Charles was bordering on twee. Honestly everyone just needs to have a conversation like two normal people with low stakes. Part of the reason people on TV suck at sharing their emotions is everything in this episode. Every "conversation" is threaded with heaps of subtext. I just want everyone to sit down have a chill talk over coffee not at some super memorable location over the bottle of wine they had on their first date. Just like suss out what you want the deal to be. Instead these people have to turn everything up to 11 for EVERY thought and if you aren't perfectly in sync then you're enemies.
Younger is a great show. Full of it's own types of flaws but greater than the sum of all it's flaws. It's gone from a random TV Land show to a proper cable programme. I'm not even sure I LIKE all the decisions but I enjoy that they were held fast. Of course it's silly that Kelsey gets the short end of the stick YET AGAIN. But whatever we're getting a Lizzie McGuire reunion at some point so it's all good.
Lauren is still the worst but she's earnest enough that she's not without charm.

I think the boards' decision that "millennial" is outdated and irrelevant was really on point at the episode, I suddenly felt the same when I started watching this, so it's like they've read my mind. It gave a really interesting twist to the series, that the "younger" ones aren't so young anymore (just like me, haha), and it's an interesting idea to explore, beyond the cliche that "age is just a number", and it's really interesting that once you're over 30, you can easily get together with someone 15+ older than you, because basically you're all mature now.
And I loved the conflict between Liza and Charles, showing that you can be of the same status and age and still be on different pages regarding what you want.
Of course I'm rooting for Liza and Josh, and I'm pretty sure they'll end up together.
Anyway, it is one of the best shows ever and I hope It'll get a decent ending, but I'm up with everything more or less
