Saw this in the theatre when it was released. Just re-watched (Amazon Prime service) today. Its still bad, but I liked it a little more. I have read a bunch of Daniel F. Galouye since first watching this movie; maybe that's why it seemed better? Its a bit boring, but the main issues are: the viewer never really cares about any of the characters whatsoever and there isn't enough "obvious" change in the sims when their consciousness switches personas. Gretchen Mol carries the whole film.
Gyaos on Tokyo Tower is the best photographic scene.
