It has been a really long time since I've watched something so chill yet so heartwarming, good movie!
Kinda all over the place, crazy... But a fun experience, something new and refreshing, after these last couple of years of terrible movies
Hot take, but this movie isn't good. It relies too much on the MCU, just like the new Spider-man movies, so it struggles as a stand-alone movie. This is a fatal flaw of these movies, since people (like me) who have very little interest in most of the other movies in the universe, finds a lot of the time skips and references in these movies confusing... Like a portal in NYC opened up and gave him PTSD? What? People talk about it like something big happened, but what happened? I don't remember seeing any flashbacks, so it's probably something explained in a different movie that is also part of the MCU? This was the same issue with Spider-man's "blip" or whatever they called it (although the Spider-man movies leaned a lot more into the MCU than this movie did, which made them even worse as standalone movies). Too many references. This is just one of the topics out of a couple from this movie.
Then on terms of characters, most of the characters sucks, I'm not interested in ripoff iron man that works for the military, nor in Tony's wife or any of the other bazillion characters. Their parts in the story itself is just bad, their acting was really good, but the parts they were given to do was not, this is a fault not on the actors but those who work the story.
Also, the plot is incredibly forgetful, pretty much boring too. The villains didn't interest me at all, so I almost zoned out when there was anything to do with them (they started off interesting, but gradually became less and less interesting). I also still don't really understand their motives (or was it just because Tony was a meanie ?) .
The action scenes were fun, I was more interested in them than the villains at least XD
Tony is also pretty funny during the movie, probably the best out of all 3 movies in terms of comedy.
Overall a 5/10 movie, if you watched the MCU series in the correct order, this would probably go to 7/10.
It is a good movie, but unless you know any of the other Marvel movies, you'd feel pretty stranded, as it does not follow from the first Spider-Man, but instead from a different movie entirely... The relationships feels weird, like suddenly Happy and Peter are (friends?), and MJ and Peter likes each other? I know there was a time skip, but purely watching these movies standalone as SM movies, they feel rushed often times and like things just "happen" to make more things "happen". This is not at fault of the actors, as Tom Holland and others do an amazing job, but more at fault of the directors building up from a previous movie that was not SM and building for a next movie (be it SM or not)...
As a standalone SM movie, this gets a 5/10, since those who know nothing about the other non-sm movies and series produced would be very confused and not understand everything that is happening and how it happened.
As a movie part of the MCU, it holds up well, and would probably be a 7/10
The concept and comedy are both very good, I very much enjoyed the first part of the show, animals evolving rapidly to fit their new environment, brilliant concept. But I won't lie, after the 2nd half of the show, I kinda just watched to find out what the green light is. It did feel like it ended on a meh moment, probably keeping space for a potential 2nd movie.
Surprisingly good, I expected it to be pretty boring, but was actually really entertained
Season 1 is horrible, but season 2 is much better, the main character shows significant growth, which really makes the show waaaay better
Great show, I recommend to everyone, it captures the troubles of being the bullied kid in school and how even so you can rise up and become a great person even if the guy in the show gets the body of a cool good looking kid , but it shows just how different people can treat you based on looks alone and the troubles that comes with it
