enjoying it every time , not quite a deep story plot. but nice visual effects and epic battles.
The Spartans were a mean lean fighting machine. I really like the colors and the slow motion action scenes. I have heard that it holds true to the comic book. King Leonidas is a great character and Queen Gorgo is his equal.
Just a superb rage-action movie. Will remind you of what it means to be a man.
The quintessential graphic novel movie. This ain't no historically accurate epic; it's a fucking comic book turned into a movie and it's damn good at what it is.
forgetting the fact this is "not a historical movie" if you love action movie filled with gore, blood and over-fantasized creature you would love this movie but if you seek a movie with a good balance between story and action this is certainly not your best choice
300 is a spectacle of cool.
C'mon people. Who hasn't said, "I am Sparta."
I had chills and goosebumps virtually the entire film.
The... very... inspiring story of king Leonidas and his 300 fellow Spartans who opposed the Persian God-King Xerxes' and his army at the Hot Gates. 300 illustrates why one has to fight for what one believes in, for what one values to most, for what one loves!
hated it! one of just a few movies I didn't finish watching.
You have to be completely brain dead to like this movie...
it's sucks movie !
totally fake! this is a huge historical lie
This is one of the few instances where Snyder’s sensibilities work in his favour. The plot’s very simple and straightforward, so that allows for Zack to crazy with the action and style, which he does well. Was I emotionally moved? No. Does its simplicity hamper the pacing at times? Yes. Are its politics strange, given the simultaneous homoerotic and fascist undertones? Yes, but I wouldn’t put too much stock into its intentions or subtext, given that we’re talking about a director who tends to be all about the surface. It’s just trying to be a stylish action movie, with the results being sometimes boring and sometimes awesome and quotable.
5/10
I have reached the time of year when I see this film. Enjoy again with Leonidas vs Xerxes
An epic film, with a simple but incredibly executed story, fantastic visuals and several memorable moments.
Slow Motion: The Movie
Such a beautiful movie in terms of style; the colors, grainy picture, score, slow motion, exagerated lighting and backgrounds... it all creates something captivating. All this plus the narration makes it feel like watching a history documentary or a very stylish stage play. It's all really nice to look at but 300 is the definition of style over substance. The action sequences look awesome but the focus of them is more on giving us style (and a shit ton of slow motion) than actual adrenaline action. There's nothing thrilling, it's all far too slow. Not nearly enough action to make up for the simplistic story and characters. CGI blood is still an atrocity by the way. Pretty good third act and ending despite all this.
I saw this when it came out and thought it was great then. But now it’s just so boring dramatic
Saw this in theaters around when it came out, and later I would pick up the DVD. Watched it again for the first time in probably over 10 years.
While the movie definitely takes liberties with history, as someone who took history classes in his last semester of college, knowing that I would get bad grades but enjoying learning about the subject (and just needing to fill my schedule since I only had one or two required courses), there's glimmers of truth in the movie.
It's also a great example, although not as good as The Watchmen or the first Sin City, of a comic book movie adaptation doing the style right.
It's fucked up and full of historical inaccuracies
Great, very good fights ad visual was amazing
Great stylized action but nothing more.
A fantastic movie, loved every minute of it a real mans movie.
One two three four five
you must know how to use cgi in the war film that very rarely.
Great movie. Beautiful to the eye in every way. Mr Butler delivers as well as Mr Snyder.
Amazing FX and story with some intense fighting scenes. As a fan of Gladiator, I found this movie entertaining.
It was cheesy, but enjoyable.
Really outstanding. Sweet!
June 29th, day of seeing this magnificent action film that created school. "Spartans prepare for glory!". Tomorrow I cant see
