Why are you rating movies that haven't even been made yet?
Mockingjay Part 2's biggest mistake is being completely faithful to the book, considering that it is the worst one of the trilogy. They had the chance to make the story better but chose to stick to what they had. Being the final chapter of the story, it has emotional bits, but miserably (and unfortunately) fails to sell them, rushing the scenes which we were supposed to remember the most. However, its political and action turmoils are its best parts and were beautifully developed. After all, piecing the four movies together, it remains a good story.

Seriously. The big dramatic moments are unbelievably rushed—there's no time to dig into them. There's too much focus on bad CGI and not enough on characters. Basically every character is 2D at best, except maybe Katniss and Peeta. But that's also due to sticking true to the book. None of the characters in the books were particularly well fleshed out, either, as I recall (from reading them 3 ½ years ago).
I also found the story very predictable. Obviously there's some amount of subconscious influence from having read the books, but it's also just absolutely clear when the big surprises/twists are going to happen, and what they'll be. They end up not being surprising at all. (Not to belabor the point, but the book had this problem too.)
My other big issue—which applies to the whole series—is that we barely see anything that happens away from Katniss. I know it's quite common in YA novels to present a limited first-person perspective from the protagonist's point of view, but in a big political saga like this I feel like that severely limits the storytelling.
The first one was good, the second one was pretty great, the third one was decent enough - the finale was just a disaster. Much of that is down to Katniss just being a terrible character - maybe a more capable actress could have made her more relatable -, the rest mostly to the drawn-out and plain unsatisfying nature of the film and plenty of potential that is never achieved.
I watch a lot of movies and this one is one of the worst I've ever seen. It's like a bunch of random scenes put together to attempt to make some sort of a story line. The dialogue was terrible. The ending, terrible. It was boring and WAY too long. Save yourself 2.5 hrs by not watching this feces of a movie.
Incredibly boring. Even the little action we had in-between all that bland emotional drama and the ridiculous love triangle. And I'm still laughing at the ridiculousness of Snow's followers turning on him after some child murder considering they've been killing children for their entertainment for many years. (And don't fucking tell me it was to ration the food, the rich folk's been literally eating to threw it all back up and they were definitely enjoying the show of kids butchering each other). But what is crazier? That or the idea to organise another instance of hunger games? Give me a fucking break... And of course after the war was over Katniss put down her bow and decided to procreate. I watched this shit just to finish this incredibly disappointing franchise and be done with it.
Top marks for the special effects. I heaven't read the books but I do find the storyline confusing... I didn't understand the events of the ceremony at the end. Truthfully I only watched this because I had seen the others in the series but I'm left wishing I hadn't started. My personal grade of 6/10 is a reflection of the special effects rather than any other aspect of the film
May the spoiler be always in your favour (this review contains spoilers.)
A great ending has come to the legendary hunger games series. A most welcome ending because we now finally will discover how the creators handled the death of Prim and the bittersweet ending of the book. Those were the two parts of this film I was curious about the most. My judgement is a 50/50 split between praise and expected disappointment.
After 3 movies and covering 2,5 book we have arrived at the endgame. The rebellion is on the capitols doorstep, and the climax of the story has arrived. During this build up there was a decent lack of focus on Katniss her sister Prim (as I mentioned in an earlier hunger games review too.) The importance Prim has to Katniss is shown a few times, but she did not get the appropriate attention for the average watcher to accept and understand that. Therefore the 'big explosion' didn't hit me as hard as it should have (and it didn't look like it hit many of the rest of the audience in the cinema.) But this was an expected point of criticism, and the actual execution of the big scene was done fairly well and a visual treat.
They did left the ending completely intact, with the harsh reality of a post traumatic stress syndrome after a war and poking around in someone's brain. It is an emotionally, nerve-racking but realistic ending, and I loved the books for it. I am thankful the writers had the gut to not change it.
Performance
Performances are once again fabulous. Effie (Elizabeth Banks) her role was mostly played out, so we sadly didn't get to see much of her. Neither did we of Haymitch (Woody Harrelson.) But it wouldn't be the Hunger Games without some of the chart emotional outburst by Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence.) She proves to the world that her fellow generation actresses are miles away from her level of performance. I even dare to say she is the best we've got currently have in all of Hollywood.
Donald Sutherland finally steps it up as president Snow and leaves the franchise with a great final act, giving the evil sceptre to the ever anticipating Coin (Julianne Moore) whome I have yet to see doing a weak performance. Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Gale (Liam Hemsworth) are just as great as they always were, even though we do not see enough of Gale to give his character a proper development. They just managed to do enough. Jena Malone as Johanna Mason was a delight, even though fairly irrelevant. The acts of Natalie Dromer as Cressida and the rest of the camera crew & squat underwent the same faith: Fairly irrelevant, but decent nonetheless. Most of the soldiers deaths were less shocking due to their lack of screen time, but there simply isn't enough time to set there character up in this stage of the story, so it couldn't be handled any other way.
Story
The story couldn't have been more relevant to current times. With a massive overlap with the refugees in Europe, the war in Syria and the political pre-election games in the USA, the accidental timing of the movie is perfect. Sometimes it felt like I was watching a speech they took right out of Donald Trump his program, used images from actual war zones and this made it frighteningly applicable to reality for me. The whole story is a fair warning to the current world situation, and one that shouldn't be taken lightly.
Having said that, the script did drop some stitches. Especially with the pacing. The middle part of the movie is going from one event to another lacking some proper motivation besides getting to the end of the movie. It did deepen the drama and gave room for great action scenes, but they had to sacrifice the strategic coherence we saw in the last film. It results in an ending that became fairly predictable, and a feeling that some (major) events were rushed (a weird feeling when you have over 9 hours of film in total.) Using shots during the execution scene, where Snow and Coin are in the same line of sight on multiple occasions, could have been handled differently too. I guess only a few people were surprised by the arrow's direction.
Visual & Music
I can be brief about this, it was phenomenal. The music was a tad less interesting than in the former movies, but still greatly timed and chosen. CGI and SFX was stunning. I was never a big fan of the the underground part, but the mutts were done amazingly well with so much detail and wrath it rightuously felt absolutely threatening. As they truely are one of the capitols most deadly weapons. Even though I knew something would happen in seconds, I still jumped by surprise a few times.
Overall
After all it is a movie with many perks and some tiny flaws that are very understandable. A worthy ending to one of the most important series of its genre.
Você me ama. Verdadeiro ou falso?
It's slightly better than the first part. I didn't like how major scenes are rushed (the death of important characters) because it lacks emotion. We don't have the time to realize what happened, it's too fast and we didn't spend enough time with these characters throughout the movies to really care about their deaths. The ending is okay and bittersweet mirroring the state of this post-apocalyptic world.
a greedy stretching-out of a story into 2 of the dullest movies ever, following-up on 2 good movies.
I rate it "can Finnick mock my Jay?" out of ten
6.5/10 - RIP Primrose. Her death really sucked and makes me angry. Sure, that's what it's intended for but I'm more angry/annoyed by the writers as I find it too dark. The last three of the movies developed Prim as such a nice, kind, and smart character just to sacrifice herself at the very end for the story. And it makes everything feel quite meaningless as it feels like all of Katniss' efforts were for nothing. That's definitely not true and Prim's death probably wasn't for nothing as Katniss probably only shot President Coin due to it but it still feels like it as everything started with Katniss volunteering for Prim to save her life.
So yeah, it's powerful and emotional but it's also super dark... :o
And RIP Boggs. That man died a real hero! I liked his character from the beginning but he really got on another level in his final moments. He really did care about everything and especially Katniss.
My favourite character is the cat.
me asking what mutts are as sydney is crying over finnick
I personally feel like the movies slowly got less and less exciting with each new release. I watched all four of them in the span of one week, I never read the books, but it just seems like the story kind of stretches beyond the point where I really needed to see it go. If anything I think the last two movies would've served better combined and with an hour or so shaved off as it starts getting slightly redundant, but still a good movie series that I enjoyed watching.
That was a lot better than I remembered. Actually a fun watch.
Had to watch this in two parts because it was so. damn. long! And honestly? Not worth the time. Two and a half hours of a snoozefest.
The story is predictable, which made it boring - for starters. Once again, all these more significant deaths happened, but were brushed off so quickly, which made it harder to emotionally connect with the movie ( especially Finnick, who was my favourite character in both the film adaptation and the original book series ). I understand that they can't allocate time to every single death, but the rest of the movie is filled with useless scenes, especially in the last 20 minutes, which frustrates me to no end.
Not only that, but the story seems to be very much centered on Katniss and Peeta - which, granted, seems logical, but we've had the past three films to go about their story, and I feel like it would have been nicer to have had a look into the perspective of the others or at least give more screentime to different characters, rather than being boxed into some love triangle that was cringey at best.
I can't say I'm going to watch this ever again.
I don't know, It was kinda boring.
i enjoyed much more the other ones... but this being the end of the story i suppose we shouldnt be expecting much more than this.
ahhh it was a weak end.
It could have been better and the final part is a little disappointing. I kinda expected more.
Soooo booorrrriiinnng. Lost 2 hours of my life...
It was completely faithful to the book which is good sometimes.. in this case I would've liked to see more development in the end not so rushed, but well, it was written on the book in this way.. Amazing acting, effects and a lot of action just like the book described! Not disappointed. Overall, a good ending to this amazing saga!
Well, that was rather disappointing unfortunately. Not that I can say that I am very surprised though. The first installment in the series started off being "okayish" and the rest of them slid downwards towards mediocrity. This, the final installment, is a notch below mediocre as far as I am concerned. I really cannot understand all the hype about these movies. None of them really shines even if you try to look at them as young adult movies which they really are.
This one was downright boring. There were numerous scenes where Katniss or some other character was just dreaming away or sitting around brooding. It took quite a while for anything to start happening in the movie.
When something started happening it was the same mess of political, unbelievably stupid, propaganda, messy and unintelligent fight scenes, Katniss walking around looking, I do not really known, disconcerted, sad, disturbed, whatever.
How the chief villains (yes plural) was one could figure out without too much effort. The moment the flyer came into the picture and started to fly over the refuges and the children not only I but all of my kids as well guessed who had sent it.
There is really only two things that I liked about this movie. One is that Donald Sutherland was really good. The other is the ending which, although being 100% predictable, was quite satisfying. Well, that scene (everyone having seen the movie knows which scene I am referring to) is where I consider the movie to have ended. After that it was only boring filler scenes remaining.
The last instalment in the franchise. This time Katniss and her buddies try to topple the creatively titled capital city, The Capitol.
The previous film in the series struggled to really get off the ground, there’s no such trouble here as we follow the rebels through the stages of mounting an assault. Katniss finally has a bit of purpose and the pacing of the story gets back on track. She gets to go from ISIS recruiter to combatant.
However, Part 2 holds no surprises in store, which is a shame. It’s well made and of course there are some strong performances, but the final pay off is weak and predictable.
If you haven’t already called time on the franchise there might be something for you in this. For the rest of us, this film winds up a story in an orderly but boring fashion. Far from diabolical, but it comes nowhere near to cashing in on the potential we saw in the first and second films.

I read the Hunger Games trilogy back when it was first released. The first book was interesting, the second book was just more of the same, and the third...well...even more of the same, just in a much bigger setting with even less of a story. And what book do they make two, entirely too long, movies from?
As you can see by the date, I never bothered with this one until I could borrow it from a friend, and thank goodness for that. The movies follow the exact same pattern as the books. The first was decent enough, the second a carbon copy of the first, and the third just plain sucked, and then you have the fourth...
Mockingjay Part 2 has nothing much going for it. The action is decent enough and Jennifer Lawrence looks as good as ever, but it has just the same serious flaws as the third book. Surprised yet?
It drags on and on, but the parts that were almost decent in the book ended up being hastened through. Sometimes I wonder if the directors actually read the books their script is based on...
Unless you have suffered through the first ones and just want to see how things end...don't bother with it. Not worth the time at all...
I've been waiting for this for a long time and now when i watched it I am satisfied and i will really miss this franchise as it's one of my favorites.
Listening to the audio book of Mockingjay; I felt depressed and disturbed as hell lol. The movie however I loved. Maybe since I knew all the morbid details already.
Still; I found the movie engaging as well as moving more than depressing unlike the book. The film version I think is actually more satisfying.
Since I would actually recommend this to the fans who found the last book disappointing or just too damn sad!
I can rewatch these movies forever and ever
Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 proves they saved the best for last. It’s a stellar addition to the series, providing plenty of entertainment and closure. The film provides the best action and effects of the entire series, making it my personal favorite of the entire franchise. A thrilling and satisfying conclusion to the saga.
Part 1 and 2 would have been perfect if it was just the one movie and around 3hrs. Both parts felt over stretched. The ending in this was way too long but totally satisfied with the conclusion. Despite it feeling long at times I was still engaged and enjoying the group journey to the Capital.
The Overall series was really good and consistent with the storyline. Obviously if you had read the books your experience would be different.
As good as this series is overall, I feel like it really flubs the ending. The ending is just completely unsatisfying imo.
As with the first part of the finale of the "Hunger Games" movies, you realize pretty quickly that the decision to make a two-parter out of the story wasn't the best idea. "Part 1" was still distinguished by an interesting story approach in which Katniss is used as a propaganda toy. A resolution, however, was lacking. In "Part 2," there is much more action, and the whole plot comes to a quite satisfying conclusion. However, the finale drags quite a bit, especially when the action shifts to the underground. I was also a bit annoyed by Julianne Moore's character, which is really laughably one-dimensional. The epilogue could have been left out as well; it fulfills a cliché that I just don't want to see in this kind of movie anymore. Nevertheless, "Mockingjay 2" still has some great moments, so overall, I'm satisfied with the film series as a whole.
This gives us the climax to the build-up of the previous installment, but still doesn’t recapture the suspense or intrigue of the first two movies.
The plotline where our sweet and obsessed boy Peeta suddenly goes insane and hates Katniss for a while still feels like an unnecessarily personal attack to my happiness:sob:
Their happy ending made the pain all worth it though! I feel like they needed to go through all of this for Katniss to realise how pure Peeta is and how much she needs and wants that in her life <3
However, Finnick dying the way he did will forever be my villain origin story.
P.S. Katniss continually thinking she can fix everyone with the magical healing powers of her kiss will never stop being funny to me. I crack up each time I think about it.
Would rate this a 7.3
How did katniss know how to work the holo and turn it on if only the 1 specific person with high level clearance is able to operate it and hold it the entire time
This film should definitely earn some credit for management to delicately balancing giving this film series both a realistic and a satisfying ending. The romantic subplot certainly is distracting this time around, perhaps moreso here than in the other films. Still, some exciting acting sequences, well-timed plot twists do a fine job of distracting the viewer from some of the weaker aspects of the film, like the Capitol's ineptitude.
Oh, and the ending is long. Satisfying, but looooooooooooong.
THE GOOD: ‘THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 2’

NOVELTY: 55
ENJOYMENT: 80
RE-WATCHABILITY: 75
INTRIGUE: 85

THE GOOD:
This film drops us straight into war and chaos from the lengthy build-up in the previous film. It feels faster and higher on adrenaline compared to Part 1, while also furthering the dark and depressing tone and the personal stakes introduced in that film.
This is the most emotional of the Hunger Games films, thanks to the losses, the victories and the terrors experienced.
The novel never manages to make the conflict feel like a real war, mostly because the biggest battles happen off-page. The film rectifies that by effectively feeling big, bold and bombastic
The filmmakers handle the death of Philip Seymour-Hoffman in mid-production with grace and virtue, and his (almost total) absence from the film doesn’t feel superficial.
This last film alone is better than the entirety of the last novel.
THE BAD:
It’s a pity this final film introduces a bunch of new characters who never get to do anything productive before being killed off.
The relationship between Katniss and Peeta is completely ruined and wiped clean, which is amazingly frustrating. It’s like the slow evolution of their rocky relationship throughout the previous two films has absolutely no impact on anything.
Prim’s death is pretty sloppily handled here, losing most of the impact of the book.
While the ending is better than the frustrating one in the novel, it’s almost annoyingly Hollywood-fied instead.
THE UGLY:
Biggest and deadliest oil spill in the history of cinema!
THE VERDICT:
Mockingjay - Part 2 puts the Hunger Games film franchise to rest with a satisfying, emotional and action-packed final entry.
76% = :white_check_mark: = GOOD
A brilliant and epic conclusion to the Hunger Games saga. I just love this movie so much. It‘s action-packed, has amazing characters and a very good ending to the story. Jennifer Lawrence is so brilliant in the role of Katniss and I also especially like Julianne Moore as President Coin.
Good ending to the series, though introducing a new villain in the last 40 minutes felt a bit rushed
This movie was a pretty decent finale, I just don't think the ending where we're shown Katniss and Peeta as parents was entirely necessary but apart from that I actually quite enjoyed this.
"Tonight, turn your weapons to the Capitol!".
After the dull filler that was Mockingjay Part 1, I mean splitting movies into two parts isn't a great idea with some book adaption movies that don't need it, because the books themselves were not long and flowed together nicely. And yes Harry Potter did the splitting movies into two because well, the book itself was freaking huge, so huge that a little toddler can reach the top shelf by standing on the freaking book. It's completely pointless and now every book adaptation movie is doing it just to cash in more money.
I didn't like Mockingjay Part 1 that much. Nothing interesting was developed in that movie and part 1 was nothing but a set up to the next movie, which you should never do, because when you do a marathon of all of the movies, part 1 is the one that you want to skip. That's what Part 1 was 'a set up' and it doesn't stand on it's own as film (In my opinion). But all that a side, I sawed Mockingjay Part 2 a few days ago and it wasn't that great. It was way better than Part 1 when comes to something happening, but that's not saying much, because while I was watching the movie I had the same uneasy feel that Part 1 gave me and not in a good way. It isn't a bad movie, but it wasn't great.
The one major positive that I can give that was all throughout The Hunger Games franchise was Jennifer Lawrence. She has so much to do here and really makes her character shine in this movie. She once again dose a great performance that wasn't over acting or being too dramatic, but it was simple and locked down. She was without a doubt the best part of this movie.
This is a very dark and grim movie with no comic relief from the other characters, and these no messing around here and that element in the movie dose work...sometimes. These many scenes in this movie that was overly sad and so dramatic, to the point that I said to myself "Oh my lord, this movie is so miserable and grim". I know a finale like this isn't going to end quietly and it worked sometimes, but sometimes it overly did it.
This is Philip Seymour Hoffman's last movie and I think the movie did justice for his character in a respectful way due to the actors passing. I know it was hard for the cast to deal with Hoffman's death, since he's character had a major scene in this movie that he never got a chance to film due to his death. I thought the movie did great job of working around it respectfully. R.I.P Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Now for the problems: The first half of this movie and the last is so freaking slow with it's pacing, to the point that it was basically killing the spirit of this movie with the lack of energy. The movie never made me feel like the stakes were high as it felt too easy. There was never a moment that made me feel like I was on the edge of my seat or biting my nails worried for what's going, because as I said before the stakes never felt high to me. That's really disappointing and I had so much high hopes for this movie to be an intense finale with a satisfying ending...well I got some of that, but not the satisfying or intense part.
Was the ending satisfying? well, it was fine ending, but not the best as the movie didn't know how to end. The endings were dragged out.
Overall rating: Mockingjay Part 2 will satisfy some fans of the franchise. I do think it's better Part 1 as I felt like a lot of things were happening. Unfortunately this movie dose have the same problems that Part 1 had with it's pacing and it's lack of energy. I didn't think this movie was great and I know for a fact that five years from now I will completely forget about this movie.
Splitting this film into two halves, especially in this manner, was a detriment to both. This time, the action begins almost mid-scene, like we'd merely broken for a commercial and not held off for a year of unrelated pursuits. I felt like I needed a "Previously on The Hunger Games" refresher, because it's just assumed you're going to remember everything and I, with my sliding mid-life memory banks, did not. Having read the books before the first film, those recollections were already weak and I'm still not entirely sure I associated the right names with the corresponding faces.
But I'm getting away from the point, and that's this: Part II is, quite literally, an act and a half of drama. It's also quite hollow, and maybe one thing has more than a little to do with the other. Without a third set of titular Games, it lacks the sense of adventure and originality that added such color to the first two films and settles in as a drab, depressing war march. A shame, since the visuals - a weakness in those early efforts - have suddenly become quite good. The world sprouts with beautifully absurd touches of life (or, at least, there's a sense that it did before the landscape was literally drenched in a viscous black goop) and the larger set pieces have a great sense of magnitude to them.
A pity, then, that the main players have all been beaten to the turf and can't muster so much as a smirk, even in their storybook endings. A grim, dazing, unhappy concluding chapter that, while technically adept, is both scatterbrained and railroaded to its last breath.
A good ending to the series.
The second best movie of the franchise right behind catching fire, but overall this franchised sucked
4,5/10
Mockingjay Part 2 is better than the second and third film in The Hunger Games Series but in the end the quality of the franchise decreased significantly after the first film
Its hard to put down exactly what is wrong with the final instalment of the Hunger Games series. After the first two well-received instalments, the decision to split the last film into two parts was unnecessary with very little of consequence happening in Part 1. Although it did get to explore more explicitly the themes that have been a hallmark of the series, it was largely at the expense of the plot. That is certainly not the case here and all the elements of the story should work. It’s certainly not a bad film - all the performances are great and the concept of using the Capitol as the arena is a clever one. The film continues to explore the consequences of violence and war, the use of media and propoganda, as well as the shades of grey on both sides of the conflict and Jennifer Lawrence once again gives it her all as Katniss. Unfortunately, the twists and turns of the plot don’t quite have the impact that the filmmakers probably intended and there is a realisation that the film series has focused so much on Katniss’ point of view throughout that the sacrifices and losses of secondary characters don’t work as well as they should as they have played such a small part in the films as a whole. It also doesn’t help that the use of the Capital as a Games arena is a clever concept, but it actually serves to undermine some of the themes, with a large proportion of time devoted to set-piece traps and chases that rely on effects and scale than the more personal violence that the previous films had dealt with. Its ultimately a narratively satisfying way of bringing the series to a close but it disappoints in not being quite as emotionally involving as the first two entries.
It's been a while since I've seen the previous movies, so, there was a lot in this I didn't quite understand. Therefore, I feel unqualified to give this a score; Lord willing, at some point, I'll watch the entire quadrilogy from beginning to end so I can understand this better.
For me this is the weakest part of the series. The ending is clear and the flick never does it get very thrilling. Its also not boring and all in all a decent action flick with only few mediocre parts. However, I think a lot of potential was wasted here.
So my final verdict: you probably have to watch it as part of the series but do not expect too much!
-You love me, real or not real?
-Real.
It was a good movie, I liked the action but...
I thought the ending was just toooooo happy. I just didn't feel it. Katniss never seemed like the type of person who would end up that happy with kids and everything. No. I personally would have written it so that both Katniss and Peeta would take that killpill, it would be poetic since they both wanted to do that in the first Hunger Games.
The lamest excuse for an ending, after harry potter.
Enfim... Final fraco!
nice ending to the whole saga. Never understood the appeal of this franchise but it was the better one for me. At least i didn't get bored like the previous movies
She had to choose Gale!
She had to choose Gale
She had to choose Gale!
Esperava muito mais nesse ultimo filme da saga The Hunger Games.
I like it. Better than firt part :)
Me gustó bastente la película, más que la primera parte
There is too much violence in this remake of the little house on the prairie.
I thought it was really nice. The time went by really quickly. In my opinion, it's as good as the first film of these series.
Hunger Games 2012 was a 10. Catching fire was a 9. Mockingjay part 1 was a 8. Mockingjay part 2, I give it a 7. Lucky it has ended now.
Liked this one! This film featured some of the best acting of the series by Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth. I love the realistic development of Katniss' character- amazing acting - though Jennifer is not your typical uncanny beauty super action hero, she delivered great in my opinion by steping on the same level as the audience. We can relate to her and her feelings. Well done, and yea - this franchise is better than Harry Potter ;)
The division of the last book adaptation in 2 parts was unnecessary. The film was beautifully made, but looks like they're pushing the plot and the inevitable end of the series for too long. Overall it's a great movie that explores the political issues of Panem with the unfolding of the series.
como veo???? nohay opción para ver películas series ayudenmeeeee
This could have been definetly more epic.
Probably the weakest part comparing to the book... ;>
(via Movie Blaze for WP)
truly epic yet saddening, had to walk all the way home listening to Mumford & sons just to get it out of my system
I expected this to be way more emotional but they rushed the key scenes and that ruined it. The last scene was good though. It could have been a lot better. Defo the worst of the series.
Ends Katniss vs Snow. Is it all to win the war? allways win who is in the power in the shade?
Though the acting is well done, I found that it lacked believably. The action was the only thing that really moved the story forward, rather than any kind of depth of dialog between the characters. I felt the same way about the first one. It was also highly predictable. At least with the first two I was not able to see the ending until I was actually watching it unfold.
I have enjoyed the entire Katniss Everdeen series, and to be honest, I liked Part 1 of Mockingjay the best of them all. Unfortunately, Part 2 was not as good. I have not read the books, but my two daughters have, so I get the blow by blow commentary related to what important parts were left out, at least based on the opinions of 17 and 12 year old theatre prodigies.
If I understand how the book wrapped up, so much more could have been done with this film. Unfortunately, as Hollywood is want to do, acton won out over thoughtful and thought provoking.
My other disappointment with the film is, despite my long -term investment in the series' characters, I found myself becoming bored with them in this film. Let's face it, Katniss came a long way in the final two films, but she didn't grow from it. Gale never became anything but a side love interest and someone whom some would say believed in going to far in warfare. Out of all of the characters, Haymitch seemed to grow the most, and honestly, Woody Harrelson was the highlight of the actors portrayal of the characters. By the end, Jennifer Lawrence seemed to just be going through the motions. While she has, no doubt, made a barrel of cash from these films, she clearly has so much more to give artistically.
I don't think this comment is a spoiler. It is, however, a means to help the consumer manage her / his expectations. Mockingjay is a good film that could have been been great.

Mockingjay Part 2 is a satisfying, explosive, and well executed end to the Hunger Games franchise, not as exciting perhaps as Catching Fire, but more politically charged.
