Best adaptation of Sherlock Holmes ever. Even better than BBC's Sherlock (it lacks the drug abuse and 'unethical' practices from the detective. It's too "politically correct", it's somewhat annoying). Now if you think I'm on the wrong show posting this, either you didn't watch House MD, or you don't know Sherlock Holmes...
It's never lupus.
-Dr. Gregory House
Loved the ending. Not too sensational, but fitting.
Thank you David Shore, for an amazing series.
And Hugh, looking forward to your next project!
i hate shows that drag on with no end in sight, just crazy weekly conundrums and circular storytelling to nothingness just to stretch out more seasons ... House, Blacklist, Supernatural, etc all have these never ending meaningless story-lines that i don't care for, but draw in a big fan base ... i made it 70 episodes (finale of season three) before i couldn't take it any longer and moved on to other better shows
Great show.
i looked for a series with a genius main actor like house for a long time.
he never stopped to suprise me,really made me love this series so much
Where's Lisa Edelstein (Cuddy) on the cast list? She was a regular on the show for seven seasons!
Ridiculously good show, but one where people criticising the "formulaic" nature are missing the point entirely. The medicine is merely a vehicle for the logic, philosophy, ethics, and comedy involved in the intricate writing of the show. Re-watching forevermore.
Twenty Vicodin looks promising
I can rewatch this show a million times, because I always forget the endings to each episode. Love the character dynamic. Though unrealistic, idc because its entertaining
Based on the first 3 seasons, I really thought that this show had an extremely high chance of becoming one of my favorites. By the 5th season, I felt like I was underrating this show. I felt like what came before was actually top tier content. I thought that I was just downplaying its quality because I have a hard time connecting to Live Action television. But by the end though, it was good. Season 6 was good. And so was 7 (for the most part). Season 8 though, it was pretty questionable.
The main problem with this show is in its structure. It evolves from a thematic based storytelling episode to a character drama.
Seasons 1, 2 & 3 all have (pretty much) the same formula. Seasons 4 and 5 experiment with the middle ground and Seasons 7, 8 and 9 completely become something else.
All seasons stay true to the characters (for the most part) but when your series changes its focus, it's pretty hard to care about the other half of the episode. You know, the hospital stuff. The thing that was perfectly balanced in the beginning with the main cast and now has nothing to do with them. And when the hospital stuff stops being thematically relevant to solving the episodes and is just there to fill in the time, it becomes dull. This was a Sherlock Holmes based series and it kind of forgot that in the last 3 seasons. Seasons 4 and 5 managed to go around that. But just like Seasons 1, 2 & 3, the structure of Seasons 4 and 5 can't last forever. The show evolved into a full-blown character drama and it did the best it could. I still think season 7 could've worked better if it was 2 seasons instead of 1 but I still liked it. Season 8 felt cheap (kind of like a soft-reboot) but at least the conclusion was decent. Also cheap, but decent.
Seasons ratings:
Season 1: 8.5/10
Season 2: 8.5/10
Season 3: 7.5/10
Season 4: 7/10 (I'm probably underrating it a lot)
Season 5: 8/10
Season 6: 7/10
Season 7: 7/10
Season 8: 6/10
Overall: 7.5/10
Top 10 characters:
1. House
2. Thirteen
3. Masters
4. Cuddy
5. Cameron
6. Amber
7. Chase
8. Wilson
9. Kutner
10. Foreman
I am starting this show because I have f^^^^n pain in my shoulder and no one can fix it or diagnose it for 5 months now, LOL! I feel you now Dr. House!
One of the best shows of all time. I so very much miss this series... classically brilliant, such wonderful characters, Hugh Laurie portrayed a legendary character - the whole cast was brilliant.
The Best Show ever for me
Greatest TV show I have ever seen. I will always miss Dr. Gregory House.
Excellent series. Keeps getting better till the end
Awesome stuff!
There is no show like you. I miss you.
watched from aug 2020 to feb 2021
David Shore is brilliant. I've been loving The Good Doctor, after finishing 10 episodes, loving this House, too. already attached to all the characters.
this show is very good! I just can't to stop watching it! I generally don't watch big TV series with long length, but it worth it
The best
best tv show ever.
oh my god. I miss you, House.
One of the best shows made, ever.
So long, Greg.
Thanks for 8 good years! :)
the show is still AMAZING! this current season reminds me of the last season of scrubs before the spin-off when they basically just had fun with it and spent more time making jokes than building up the character
House is a stupid transphobe. If you're a trans person planning to watch this show, please consider it further
brilliant my favourite drama and is a must watch
This show is amazing! I can't believe i've missed it all these years until trakt came along.
I love how Doctor House always talks sarcastically against his team and how he always plays pranks on the people he cares about. He is brilliant doctor in how he always finds an answer to problems other doctors cannot analyze.
Over the seasons we see more and more of the characters and get to know the people behind the white doctor clothes. Every one of them has their own story to tell that in the end makes them as real as anyone who watches this show.

I started watching the Season 1 pilot for old time’s sake. I can’t believe how awesome and binge-worthy this show is, even in 2024, two decades since I first watched it. One episode led to another and I’m almost halfway through Season 1.
I love stumbling upon and rewatching my old favourites. For one, they are in High Definition now, so it’s a completely different and immersive experience than what I have in memory. Then there’s the older me finding some female cast members very attractive, whereas I didn’t notice them much back in the day. In the case of House, this turned out to be Jennifer Morrison. I didn’t remember finding her this attractive when I originally watched the show :flushed:.
In the end you can really relate and understand House, it’s amazing.
9/10. Probably one of my favorite shows of all time, absolutely incredible acting from Hugh Laurie as House. My only issue with making it a 10/10 is that every episode followed basically the same plot, which I loved, but made some of the later seasons a bit tiring to watch. The ending, personally, could not have been a better way to conclude the show.
Great show overall. Some episodes are obviously filler with no real character development but when there is character development, the relationships, the cast, the story, very interesting. The ending is just the icing on the cake.
Should have ended maybe sooner but still one of the best shows
This show was unexpected surprise to say the least. I don't usually like procedural TV shows but this one won me over.
Fave show ever. He’s so talented what an actor. I’ll never forget years later when I saw him give an interview I was like WTF HE’S A BRIT?!!!!
This is the best medical series ever. Gregory House is one of my best serial characters, I like his acts , I like his mood, his jokes ...
Too long; didn't watch version:
The tragedy that is Dr. House discovers that the ultimate red-pill is the blue-pill (a good bit of irony to mirror his typical problem-solving modus operandi). No one needs the truth or someone like him who force-feeds it. They only need their pleasures. In the end, he decides to put everyone and himself out of the limboing misery. Then he lives happily ever after.
Poetic.
Other than that, he's a beautifully despicable character at odds with the ends.
I want to enjoy these movies every day.
Im not a fan of any other medical dramas myself.. I’m up to Episode 3 and already tired of it. .It's extremely formulaic.. Every episode has the same plot with a few fill in the blanks for slightly different symptoms and illnesses.. Its really not hooking me in
Just a classic hospital show.
best medical drama ever ; too bad they only made 8 seasons
good points : Hugh Lauries acting, the character's remarks
bad points: some of the supporting cast could benefit from better stories
intelligent thought provoking thoroughly entertaining
wow so like he is a doctor but no bedside manner! amazing! here is 1
All the nice I enjoyed watching the show for up to 8 seasons .. It is a pity that it ended in a series. Goodbye, House!
This show is one of the smart and funny out there
Закончил. 8 сезон и финал притянуты за уши.
Супер!!!!!!!!!
اطلق مسلسل في التاريخ بعد عودة عصويد
The popularity of this show has changed patient expectations to what should happen when they visit their doctor. Patients now often expect a singular, specific diagnosis and a drug or procedure that will solve the diagnosis. People are gullible and bringing this naive view into actual practices makes the job of real doctors harder. (source: TAM2014 Steven Novella)
On the one hand, this show is an absolute procedural by definition, and it never really broke free from that, but it was also extremely good at it, which made it TV with high ratings, so Fit had a long live.
On the other hand, it had absolutely brilliant episodes (especially the season openers and finales), that promised a lot of change, but in the end, they always fell back into the same procedure as last year (except for cast-related shakeups). It feels like there was so much potential that never got used, it's a bit sad.
But in the end, it's a show you can always watch reruns of and be entertained. Not the best, not the worst. And it had a very satisfying finale.
God it got bad toward the end.
Awesome stuff!
There is no show like you. I miss you.

Супер!!! :3
Formulaic but missed
House N the House :p
House doesn't die. He just switch the dental records.
A show to re-watch forever!
As much as i never got round his american style as i know him as english in everything, i loved this show, sad to see it go, always made me laugh <3
House was so cool until season 5... then it got so boring... and Cameron and the romance and the romance and the romance... and the romance... with Cuddy, 13... and boredom et al... stopped watching it in the middle of season 6. At least, it was cool, really cool until then =] I do not regret having watched House like I regret having watched Chuck now...
Last season for House. Sad.
Couldn't really get into this, but am willing to give it another try.
Sigh, its sad to hear that "Thirteen" (Olivia Wilde) won't be with us anymore :(
TV shows including lesbian(s) cant be wrong
Love This Show!
I´m with cherzo on this one. Sure it was fresh, but it´s a formula that is getting a bit boring; it´s been great but this needs a proper series finale soon.
I'm just catching up with s06 and I still think it's great!
To each his/her own opinion. I still think it's great :)
This show has went downhill fast.

Wilson have Cancer, now House should be diagnosed with Lupus, and that would be the major irony of this show
