This show used to be funny and it's also used to be one of my favorite TV shows (hence I initially rated this show a 10 on trakt). But starting from Season 7 the show has becoming redundant and it's going nowhere with its forgettable plots. This seems like the show is now more on the money rather on the quality.
I am so sad to say this but I won't continue watching this show.
This show used to be great. Well, the first 5 seasons were amazing and so so funny... But I just feel like the writers have lost the plot and the actors don't seem that enthusiastic any more. The only people who must be excited about the show are the producers because they are raking in the cash. I hate that they split the cast into 3 separate subplots. This just made everything stop working and flowing well. Every episode is basically the same now (different settings, same terrible sub plots and jokes) and its just NOT FUNNY ANY MORE.
I feel awfully sad to say goodbye but, I tried to stick it out to the end of season 10 but just can't. Time to move on.
hate to see this show end. I've been watching these guys so long that it felt like I was losing personal friends. I will miss these guy's.
I don't like this show. It's not funny and too many laugh track
After 12 years of watching this fantastic comedy sitcom it has come to heartfelt ending.
It is genuinely one of the funniest shows on TV with a fantastic cast and great chemistry. Sheldon Cooper maybe arrogant, self centered and in capable of emotions or empathy but you are rooting for him in the show and he quickly rises to be the star of a fantastic group. They really do come together as family and you want to hang out with these people, after 12 years of watching this show you think of Howard, Rajesh, Penny, Leonard, Bernadette, Sheldon, and Amy as friends that you really do know. They all have their stories to play out but you just don't know what to expect and when it does you love it.
They kept it relatable and especially to us nerds and that of the comic kidding, and now that Marvel is king it only made us even cooler. And seeing how nuts these guys are about Marvel, Star Wars, and Star Trek made them relatable to us and through everything they have been through we can relate to them.
The ending was genuinely perfect, the gang back together over a meal. We just haven't had enough of them.
At first I kind of liked it. And now after watching it degrade for 10 seasons, I regret watching this misogynistic pseudo-nerd gibberish.
People who vote on the entire series: please come back and reconsider your vote after you watched more than one season.
Awful show, tell you a lot about the current state of american comedies.
Just the funniest show of all time. Nothing more to say
I don't get how that many people love this show. I mean the firsts seasons were funny - and not that very funny - but the last 5 are just hard to watch. Sometimes I think I'm being to hard on the show but the last season is just to painful to watch. Kaley Cuoco can't act and she doesn't even try it. Her character is just mean to Leonard for no reason and that's supposed to be funny. Sheldon has become an annoying baby, he's not even that arrogant smart guy he was, he's just more annoying than ever. Stuart was ok as a side character but watching him as part of the gang is awful, he's not funny at all, he's just sad and pathetic fella. Amy has become Sheldon's mom who has to put up with all his tantrums but in the last scene he says something nice that makes her forget everything. Bernadette and Leonard have their moments from time to time. Raj, and Howard are the only ones you can save from this terrible show, even though their participation is more and more relegated. It's time to stop.
The story as well as jokes has become too predictable and stale now. Nothing fresh. Good bye TBBT!
I hope they sign off after this season so as to prevent more embarrassment.
One of my favorite shows on television.
Unfortunately, like many sitcoms before it, The Big Bang Theory has overstayed it's welcome and turned into a cash cow. Where the epsiodes use to be full of nerdy pop culture humor, now it's full of overused stereotypes and suffocating storylines.
I still find enough enjoyment to keep tuning in every week, but I won't deny its lost its magic.
RIP
The show is dead
I regret collecting this, the constant laugh track and terrible jokes. It's impossible to tell how this has lasted so long while other great titles have vanished before an entire season could be completed.
One of the best series.
This was a favorite of mine for years.
I love all the characters on this show. Jim Parsons does an outstanding job, as his awards prove
If you are a bit of a nerd (and you are if you have a mediacenter running trakt!), you'll probably like this a lot! Since nerd-ism is getting more popular and mainstream, most people will get the jokes, so even mom's, dad's and girlfriends might laugh at this.
If, however, you don't know who Spock and Darth Vader are, aren't at all interested in science and technology and never have socially uncomfortable situations (e.g. with girls), you'll probably miss out on most of the jokes.
One of the few shows that actually make me laugh out loud :)
It is not a show about “nerds” as much as it is NERD BLACKFACE. The characters themselves are incredibly sexist and maintain totally unrealistic standards for women at the same time the main, MOST POPULAR character is applauded for his open misogyny. Going beyond the concept that they are even supposed to be “smart,” they are, at best, a writers’ room versions of what is supposed to be stereotypical smart as it appeals to the lowest common denominator.
Another damning aspect, to me, of this ‘most popular’ piece of pop-culture treasure is the fact that during the majority of its run, it was THE most viewed program by traditional viewers. That means, more people watched a show making fun of a caricature of “nerds” as it aired ‘live’ on terrestrial TV during its regular time slot than any other show. By contrast, the most popular show that was viewed ‘time shifted’ was Community.
Think about that and you may infer that means the most popular show ‘about’ nerds was popular among the people who couldn’t even program their DVRs properly.
Meanwhile Community, a meta-sitcom that appealed to ‘real “nerds”’ wasn’t even counted by Nielsen’s ratings system because at the end of the last decade and the beginning of the 20-teens, the TV industry STILL wasn’t counting the viewership of ‘time-shifted’ DVR programming and internet-viewed programs in the Ratings system. I think that was due to the deal that was stuck with the writers’ union during the 2007/8 strike; by undercutting the viewership for many of the shows the networks didn’t own outright, the writers were still getting screwed.
To sum up, Big Bang Theory is the most offensive sitcom to me, for reasons both on the screen and off of the screen.
If I could give this show a negative score I would its an insult to all nerds truly a disaster.
Meh, it is pretty funny. The main thing that bothers me about this series is the unbearably high amount of times they use laugh tracks at non-comedic parts. Just count how many laugh tracks they use in a single episode.
This used to be one of my favorite shows on tv, but characters became annoying and jokes are not funny anymore. I can't believe how changed it is, it was better 3 or 4 seasons ago. I hope they end it before it gets worse, 'cause I don't think it's gonna be better anytime soon.
This show includes a laugh track. That is all you need to know to decide upon avoidance.
Awful.
best serie ever!! i am so happy every time that i remembered something about this serie
Stopped watching after season 6
A MUST for any nerd, from fandom lovers to major Science geeks! The characters and parings are awesome while remaining realistic, and this is one of those rare shows that both my husband and I completely adore and will always return to over and over again!!! IMPOSSIBLE to get tired of this cast!!!!
only good thing about this show was sheldon and penny and also thier friendship, i despise the ending
absolutely lovely. i'm crying now that i've finished
After having watched all 12 seasons I truly do not know how I am expected to recover from the journey I have been on. There have been brilliant episodes and dare I say some episodes that have slightly missed the mark but overall it truly has been a great show to watch. And that last episode had me in floods of tears - so good.
It was a fairly decent show to watch while eating or doing stuff, it got boring in a couple of seasons as it's pretty much the same jokes and routines all over again. They just kept rehashing the same old stereotypes and emphasizing the annoying personality traits of each character. For a show that supposedly wants to speak to the nerds, I don't think it even remotely encapsulated what it's like to one.
Twelve years is a lot of time. Twelve seasons are a lot of episodes, and keeping the show as good as at the beginning shouldn't have been an easy task. Some say the show decayed along the years, I agree. But I never stopped liking it. Sure, there were plenty of episodes which were just OK, but the characters were so well created that I connected with them and really cared about them. I even hated Sheldon in some of the last episodes, but without that amazing ending speech, none of the other characters would've gotten their recognition. I am sure I won't watch the full show again, but I would like to go back to the first seasons and definitely watch again the last three episodes that are genuinely perfect.
I am the target demographic for this show, and Big Bang Theory writing fails... Watch the IT Crowd, Silicon Valley, or Mythic Quest instead.
Ah, how quickly The Big Bang Theory devolved. It started off as a funny comedy with charming and interesting characters and ended up yet another overlong American TV series held together solely by Sheldon. Ever since they introduced drama into it, it became dismal. Episode after episode of haphazard, frustrating avoidable conflict left completely unresolved. I like Sheldon enough that I’d keep watching even if they made more seasons of this and the rest of the cast didn’t lose all of its charm, but toward the end the show revolves around who can demean and belittle Sheldon the most, while he, even in the final moments, thanked them for an achievement that belonged to him. I still think the show is worth a shot, but you’re better off dropping it after approximately six seasons.
Excellent finale. They did go out with a BANG.
Was it really as great as everyone says?
Only you can answer that, I personally believe it’s a modern 90s sitcom which struck a nostalgia chord in me. It’s characters were quirky and interesting to watch and the story line was good enough, lastly, the most important thing is that the jokes were able consistently make me smile or on occasion laugh. This show for me is plain old fun.
However, what I love about this show is not anything to do with all that. This show was in its fifth season when it caught my attention. I was at university and my friends and I would binge it. It quickly became a part of our routine and whenever I watch it now it brings back all of this memories of fun and freedome that came with that part of my life.
This is not the best show ever, but I will always love it,
Normally i would gave it 8/10, but it deserves +1 for a nerd show with which I can find common traits. ;>
It's just not funny. Hearing a laugh tape every 3-5 sentences doesn't make it funny when there is no joke or event happening.
Third nerd from the Sun
This is the #1 program in Canada (although American made), but has a tremendous international following. Who knew that a half hour show about a couple of socially awkward, yet off the scale brilliant, nerds would have garnered such success and such a faithful following. I think the appeal is that it resonates with everyone who has ever felt themselves to be an outsider (and haven't we all, at one time or another). Since the pilot, the regular cast has grown into a family of outcasts who's antics, interactions, romances and personal dilemmas never fail to draw us in. The writing is intelligent, ever creative (as demonstrated in their ability to keep it fresh for 10 seasons) and laugh out loud funny. The characters, always 3 dimensional, have grown into themselves, and have kept our attention, as we have cringed, laughed, cried and cheered them on. The actors, filling out their roles, are spot on! Between the 6th and 8th season I got sidetracked from keeping up with the show, and have this past week re-familiarized myself with the series and got caught up, and I must say its been a good week of viewing. I highly recommend this series, and give it a 9.5 (brilliant) maybe even 10 (classic) out of ten. Admittedly I'm a nerd, so I love the references and banter to all things SciFi, academic or nerd culture, and, yes, I've been known to pause the show to google people or references that I didn't quite get (so it's educational, too!) It's just a good time to which you should treat yourself. Dive in.
this show is so OVERRATED
this is a show made for stupid people to laugh at clever people.
Why is it still running?
The reason Big bang isn't interesting anymore is because none of the writers want the characters to grow. Sheldon who once used to come in the ranks of House, Sherlock Holmes and Tony Stark is now lowered down to a blabbering buffoon. In fact every character had become a stereotype of themselves. Howard and Bernadette are dealing with parenting and most of the so called "jokes" come from her bossing him. Raj spends half the season failing in his attempts to get a girl and the rest is about his bromance with Howard. God knows why Amy is still with Sheldon when she spends 90% of the time bickering and complaining about him. And 90% of the time the episode ends with him saying something sweet to her and she forgives him. (If that is not calling a character shallow then what is?). Penny and Leonard's stories have exhausted. Penny is only left with jokes which include her making fun of geeky terms.
The characters descriptions sound so single-dimensional because they are single-dimensional. No idea what part do people find funny. Clearly they are watching a different show than me.
... a rocket scientist ?!?!
This is not a great show. How it became the number one series in the US, I don't get... I started watching it, and after the first 5 minutes I got bored. I kept watching it because mz brother loved this series so much, but throughout 10 seasons I have laughed about 10 times. Most episodes I watch with a face that shows no emotions. Every laughter is forced by the canned laughter of the show. In opposite, series like friends make me laugh 10 times ever episode. The whole story of TBBT is Okay, but it is definitely not funny.
Also there are no other emotions. There was only one time I smiled and the feel of internal crying came on, which was after Raj was announced to be the Godfather of Hailey. All in all it is a really unfunny series.
Penny, played by Kaley Cuoco really knows how to make me laugh. The other character's/actors make me laugh to, but Penny's humor is more spontaneous, natural and sometimes unintentional.
TBBT is like a bubble-gum that was chewed so much, that it's already lost it's flavour. You keep chewing it only because it's still in your mouth.
Well, you should spit it out and just be over with it.
I used to be good, now it is time to stop. I hope this will be the last season, but I know it won't.
In case anyone needed to read this, I have to say despite all the good comments and ones who really enjoyed watching it I'm here to express my negative opinion on this.
I first started watching this show like 6 or 7 years ago when I finished watching Friends and HIMYM and felt the need to watch as more series as I could in this genre. I heard so many positive reviews about this show and I started watching it, but I couldn't even finish the whole first episode. I dropped it after like 5 minutes of watching it knowing I would never enjoy this show. Time went on till recently when I sat down and thought maybe I should give it another go, so I listed it in my watch list. Just finished watching the third episode forcing myself to like it, but I just can't stand it. It's neither funny or appealing. The acting is not really good in my opinion and the usage of that much "laughing voices" in parts that not slightly close to being funny made it insufferable. I just can't understand how could anyone find this enjoyable or even fun to watch and I'm saying this as someone who watched nearly 200 series and over 500 movies.
It was such a waste of time no matter how hard I tried to enjoy it. And I'm not comparing it to anything, but it's just not that good and definitely doesn't worth the hype and even overrated.
There may be many people who enjoyed watching it out there, but I'm just not one of them and I guess ones who find it really funny just haven't watched anything good in this genre.
It's just my honest opinion. Nothing more.
One of the best series.
"Loved" the show. Good bye.
This show used to be good. Not so much any more...
@mrvazil this is so true, and it makes me slighty sad, that they let their whole first 3 seasons ideal float to now be a show with no content whatsoever. if it wasn't for the fact that I can't stop watching a show without seeing the full thing and thus knowing the end of the characters. I would not bother watching TBBT anymore.
Well I just fkng love this show !!
Best show ever! Watched every episode and love I it!
Damn it, can't mark that I've seen everything.
is it just me, or are the episodes getting less nerdy?
Every long running show will lose it's charm after a period of time. The Big Bang Theory was no exception. I still remember when I was first introduced to this show by a colleague at work. There was a writer's strike and the show has stopped mid-season. I'm pretty sure it was Season 1, because I was only able to binge-watch a few episodes. We all sensed it had something special, and were hoping the writer's strike would end soon and the show will return instead of getting cancelled. The rest as they say is history.
The Big Bang Theory arrived with impeccable timing. The world (especially the Millennial generation) was becoming quite familiar with technology and the geek culture. Comics, Star Wars and Star Trek were all household names, not just restricted to Geeks. Penny being in the group gave representation for the masses who might not be highly technical. The socially awkward situations where geeks try to be normal people were also balanced by instances where normal people were trying to fit-in with Geeks. This type of story telling was rare until then.
I rate this show 10 not only because it deserves it. But, also because 10 == Bazinga! :vulcan:
They should've stopped after season 3 tho. Overall a generous 6.
How is this so popular? Some of my friends recommend it to me because I'm a software engineer, and I work in data science, so they think it's made for me. I think it's how your average non-nerd thinks a computer nerd behaves. Them recommending it to me must say something about me. The characters are just stereotypes, annoyingly so. At least everyone in my field thinks it's terrible, others however who are not as nerdy seem to enjoy it so I think it's just a show about nerds that isn't made for nerds which makes it unique in a way. Most shows with nerds in them cater to a nerdy audience.
watched it again and still love it
This shit is the worst and I am trying to figure out how to stop it from showing u in my kodi steam feed. Heeeeelp.
Back in December of 2020, I originally said to myself "Y'know, it would be funny if I watched that bazinga show ngl". I finished every episode by April 2021, and I think it was a great show. I almost cried in the finale. But now, everything in that show is such a blur, but I remember watching that show on my laptop everyday laughing my ass off. It's good to see this show end after so long because I feel like it dried out by the 9th season.
the fortnite jokes caught me off guard.
8/10
if I could time travel I would go back and stop myself from seeing this shitshow
This show has become my comfort zone for a while now. I like to hang out at Sheldon and Leonard's apartment with them, it kinda soothes me.

If you're a fan of dry humor, then The Big Bang Theory is the show for you. This sitcom is one of the best of all time, thanks to its hilarious storyline and unforgettable characters. Each episode is packed with witty jokes and clever one-liners that will have you laughing throughout. Whether you're a science nerd or just someone who appreciates good humor, The Big Bang Theory is a must-watch.
I have seen TBBT 13 times, one of the best Sitcoms after FRIENDS and HIMYM
Season 1-6 are the best.
Season 7 50-50
Season 8-11 not worth it
Season 12 80% Good
But worth watching.
Best and funniest show ever. Can't stop laughing while I watch it
Well, it wasn't bad until, basically all of them caught up in "relationships". From there, it was actually quite boring.
Getting this review in literally minutes after I finished watching, so everything is really fresh. It was a great concept, that remained really enjoyable throughout. I think it started at its best when all the jokes were fresh, characters were extra quirky, and the plot had a focus. While it never dipped to being completely average, I do think it lost what made it special by season 5. Most of the jokes were rehashed, the characters less quirky, but it was all still easy to watch and I enjoyed it all. From 5 thru 11 it all stays really consistent, and I can see it being a show that was more enjoyed week to week, than binged back to back. Fortunately, season 12 did wrap up in a good way, and I think I enjoyed it more than the previous seven seasons because the plot had a grander focus and all the characters had a bigger arc than they had up until that point. With all that being said, if you like CBS comedies, I do recommend at least checking it out...but make sure to start from the beginning to fully appreciate the characters.
Average Season Review: 7.88/10
Recommendation: At Least Give it a Whirl (For CBS Comedy Fans)
I have very mixed feelings about this show. I enjoyed watching it when I was in high school so maybe I have some nostalgia towards it. It's incredibly repetitive but in spite of that, I still found myself enjoying the show. Recently I rewatched the show all the way through experiencing moments of both cringe and genuine laughter. It's not incredible but it's also not the worst thing I've ever watched. I guess it's just my guilty pleasure sitcom.
PASADENA! AHH...YES...., MY HOME~TOWN!....
The big bang theory is funnier than most of the comedy series. Yet it’s underrated
does Penny have a last name?

There were many episodes that were just OK, but the characters are so well created that I really cared about them. I eventually started to hate Sheldon and honestly at the end I didn't go back to like him, but how his character allowed all the others get the recognition they deserved makes him indispensable. It is possible that I may not watch the whole show again but I definitely want to watch the first seasons and the last three episodes.
this show is so overratted
Best and favourite ever ,love it
it was good at the first few seasons, after that it was no fun, I don't know how they made till 12 seasons
Wish i had friends like them.
Watched season 5 and 6 live, rest of episodes I watched in syndication.
Best comedy show on tv ever!:two_hearts:
Best Comedy on Broadcast Television!
Close the show with Raj Finding Someone,Amy &Sheldon Announce a child as do Penney and Lenord and Howie &Bernadette get Separated/Divorced or they too will have another child.
the worst thing to ever happen to television
My favourite show I never stop laughing!
Ok, i don't get how is it that this show is so appreciated... I tried I tried and I tried 8 times (i saw the first 8 eps before this comment) to make me like it but I still think that TBBT is nothing more than just barely sufficient :/
Watched it all and it stays fun. Although I have to admit I watch it in between other shows to keep me busy.
Amazing! I’m a super fans of the TV
MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SHOW EVER!!
Hilarious, witty, lol, sophisticated comedy
It took me a while before I started liking this show, but after watching several episodes I was hooked. The entire series is well written, the puns are hilarious, and the entire cast is amazing.
I'm disappointed to find out that this season will be its last and final.
Good series very good I like
I love this TV show.
Leonard and penny together ruined the show..they were much better when alone...but in a relationship ...ugghhhh (season 2- season 3 )
Don't like Sheldon but everyone else is great

I have been watching the big bang Theory ever since it first aired. Being an IT student at the time, the uncomfortable social situations and nerdy jokes spoke to me. However, much has changed throughout the seasons, more about that later.
We start out with our four nerdy main characters. There is the recognizable fact of the three people with higher degrees (PHD holding Sheldon, Leonard and Raj) who make fun and feel themselves better than "simple" engineer Howard. There is the desperate search for love coming from both Howard and Raj, and the differentiation between the confident yet single Howard and the timid, uncertain just-as-single Raj. Sheldon is the one who has no sense of what's going on around him, and is only interested in his own world. Leonard is the humble cute guy who manages to get a date from time to time, an inspiration to Howard and Raj, although his on/off fling with Leslie gives us the impression that he isn't really that successful after all.
Then we have the obvious babe, Penny, the complete opposite of our four nerds. She makes something stir in all three of them, but follows the cliché of going out with the "wrong" men, being dumb, and ignoring their advances.
Even though these are all cliche’s, the inside jokes and the disarming clumsiness of the four guys made the first seasons well worth watching. Gradually however, as the show became more popular, the writers started to abandon what once made it so.
With the introduction of Bernadette and Amy the female characters are drastically expanded, but they don't add any real value to the show. Bernadette is the caricature of Howards mother, where as Amy is an attempt to make Sheldon look more human. At the same time, we go from a show with it's own flair to a one-in-a-dozen sitcom. The laughing tape went from being an accessory to being the main engine of the show. The characters became aware they were going to make a pun and started smiling like idiots before they said it, and laughing like people high on weed after someone made it. The longer this series continues, the more painful it becomes to watch. The lines that are supposed to be jokes are simply not funny. The acting and stereotyping are more bearable in a highschool play. And, as stated in another review made before this one, the show changes from laughing with the characters to laughing at the characters. From a nerdy show to a show about nerds.
Conclusion: if you're looking for some nerdy fun, watch the first three or four seasons. After that, it gets the same illness so many American shows suffer from, namely that it becomes a cash cow for the producers and starts a long, painfully slow, continuously prolonged process of dying a silent dead. They never seem to know when to end something great instead of going on to make it something mediocre.
