Hadn't heard of the movie, and from the description it didn't sound like something I'd enjoy. Not long into the first episode things weren't looking like I'd last through to the end. Not sure when, but at some point during that first episode, I was hooked. Binge-hooked. Sunrise occurred somewhere around episode 8. Watch the entire first episode if you're previewing the show -- on a day when you don't have to wake up early for work... Overall, a lot of fun to watch the twisted little world they've created.
One of those shows you just have to accept for what it is -- you're either going to like it or hate it -- Very much enjoyed seasons 1 & 2... season 3, not so much. It wasn't completely awful, but for the most part seemed the the makeup effects people were entertaining each other and not the viewer. Not their fault -- compared to the first 2 seasons, they had a lackluster, clichéd plot to deal with. I lasted through the 4th episode of characters chasing each other round & round, then gave up. Watched the finale, wasn't inspired to backtrack missed episodes. Wouldn't be surprised if there were a season 4, but I won't be tuning in...
