How is it white washing to begin with? The Major never had a clear skin tone and looks different in the manga and anime.
@kuzronk It becomes white washing in my opinion if nearly every backgroud character is asian. It just doesen't make sense to make a artificial body that does not look like the huge majority of the population.

Despite the white washing I loved the trailer. Looks faithful to the anime film. Hey in Anime they don't drawer a lot of the characters to even look Asian. A lot look Caucasian. Johansson looks how the character was drawn.
Hopefully this is a big hit and leads to sequel since there are follow up Anime films.
