Lone Survivor 2013

The first time I saw the trailer of Lone Survivor something told me that I would enjoy it very much. I am not the biggest Mark Wahlberg fan and the trailer give him the bigger highlight, but despite that fact, this war film looked really good to me. I wasn't wrong at all, it really hit me in a huge emotional way.

Lone Survivor is one of the most intense, violent and emotional war films in a long time!

The most disturbing and haunting part of this film is the fact that you know that everything that you are watching really happened. The title already indicates what unfortunately will eventually happen but it's not because of that that you lose your interest in the story even for a single minute.

Very well paced, the tension increases more and more in due time and it really leaves you at the edge of your seat. The absolutely brutal war scenes can sometimes be disturbing and painful to watch but they are all totally needed. It's almost like you were there with those soldiers, experiencing all of their anguish, pain and strenght for survival.

Excellent direction, excellent cinematography and the excellent performances of the four men who played their parts in a very realistic way, Mark Wahlberg, Ben Foster, Emile Hirsch and Taylor Kitsch.

Unfortunately most of the ratings that I saw about it were very poor. It looks like many people didn't like it and they sure have their own reasons but I can say that I loved it. At the end of the film I felt very touched by the bravery and heroism of those men.
